Hey all, we finally were able to hash the rules out regarding these just in time for Day 1 when classes begin (harharhar, I know right?).
- Weapons: All weapons must be peace tied and knotted in their sheaths/saya, and if not, left at the front gate with campus security. They may only be drawn in relevant classes, and under teacher permission and supervision.
- Spells: Spells can be just as lethal in the hands of shugenja as weapons in the hands of a bushi. It is forbidden to cast spells in the halls of the school without teacher supervision, and casting a spell on an unwilling target is grounds for expulsion.
- Animal Companions: Animal companions (pets, warcats, horses, etc) are not allowed to come to class unless directly tied to that class. In the hands of the trained samurai, they too can be lethal weapons. They must remain in either a dorm room or in the stables/pen area or outside, but not in the halls of the schools.
Failure to comply with these rules will be seen as an insult to Campus Security, and their ability to protect the school, its administration, and its students (in the same way the Seppun wouldn't allow these things into a Winter Court setting).
