When the Daidoji's phone went off again, he shifted in his seat and tried to catch a furtively glimpse at the screen in case it was an emergency.
Nope...it's just Tarik. Satoru sighs. He's really not in the mood to deal with this right now, but if he doesn't respond, he's probably going to get about five more texts and cornered after class. He tries to deftly text back a response under the desk.

Eito claps his hands together again looking to the various students. "Splendid so we have a class full of heirs. This produces a different challenge then a student who has little and must grow to wealth but an important one. I find that those born to good fortune sometimes have issue assigning value which makes this particular lesson. So then, lets give it a go." he says as he walks over to the board and writes down
SUPPLY AND DEMAND
"So.... who can tell me what that phrase means and what each part of it means. No need to raise hands, this is a conversation. Just remember the rules of etiquette for conversation and we should be fine." he says as he strikes a casual pose sitting on the desk in a tempting pose.

"Supply and Demand means knowing or having something someone wants?" Hoshiko offered as a first point. She wasn't a commerce expert, but it made sense to her

"Supply provides a measure of the availability of a product in a certain market. Demand on the other hand is the figure that measures the willingness of a customer to acquire a certain product. Depending on the market type and the economic scale used on the study they are connected." He responded without opening his eyes.

The phrase is meaningless to me, was the initial thought that flit through the Daidoji’s mind. And if deconstructed I would demand to be added to another classroom’s supply of students. Okay, it wasn’t funny, but it was somewhat self-satisfying to think it.
It was going to be a really, really long hour. Or two? Damn, how long is this class?
He stopped listening to the answers to this question as they were being posed, eager pups willing to please their sensei. This guy was actually weirding him out a little. Some of what his father used to say about him gave him some cause to worry. Apparently he was a cousin of mother’s too, but he hoped he wasn’t related to this guy at all. That’d just make this whole situation even more awkward.

From her seat, Uuen-Xiang rolls her eyes a bit at Tarik's answer. It sounded right, but hardly useful for those who didn't know economics at all. What a self-observed prat...
She sighed demonstratively to emphasize her thoughts, then piped up: "Or if one wants to speak in comprehensible Rokugani, one could say that you need to supply what people demand. If there is no demand, you cannot sell, if there is no supply, you can sell bunches if you become the supplier."

...Why are they all just saying longer versions of what I said?
Hoshiko bit back a sigh, leaning on her hand.

Eito nods at the class and draws a intersection graph of the two. "So...as supply goes up, price can go down. As demand goes up, price can go up. Its a simple chart but I think we would see it in real time. Everyone open the gifts on your desk." he says with a small smile.
Inside would be a set of 10 Golden Koku chocolate coins from the Eito Candy company. Clearly chocolates but they at least had the shape of real coins. "So then. Lets purchase your homework for the day." he says with a small grin.

Hoshiko looked at the coins, then Eito. "Sensei, I thought this was supply and demand? I'm not sure there is a lot of demand for homework" she laughed.

He asked coldly.
