"Welcome to the class, Suzume-san. Utaku-san. Kaiu-san."
As the class filled up the clock struck closer to 10:00 AM and the Imperial made his way around the room. "Please have paper and pencil to take notes. If you have any distractions, I recommend you put them away before the start of class... Which is in one minute." The clock was at 9:59 AM when he reached the door where he ushered the last of the students inside. When the clock struck 10:00 AM he shut the door and walked to the front of the class slowly, his hands clasped behind his back.
"Welcome to Military Science, students. I am your teacher Seppun Kojima, a retired Taisa of the 1st Imperial Legion, servant of the Emerald Empire for 20 years. I have served numerous assignments from the tactical to strategic level during the course of my career. I trained alongside the Lion and learned from the Akodo War College. I have spent more time on campaign than any of you have been alive; I was killing the enemies of the Emperor before your parent's marriages were arranged. In this class I am not only your Sensei, I am your Commander. I will shape you into young and promising officers through mentorship, evaluation, and rigorous coursework.
"Am I understood, class?"
He stood before them all with the bearing of the former military officer he once was, fire in his eyes and determination in his soul.
"Please, introduce yourselves to the class. Tell me who you are and why you are taking Military Science this semester."
OOC: Any student who has not posted can assume to have arrived on time. Post if the student is late on purpose.

"Utaku Joo-Eun, second year. And I am taking this class because being able to read the flow of a battlefield is vital for the Mounted Infantry, Seppun-sensei. If I am in the wrong place at the wrong time, if I choose my ground poorly, I put my fellow soldiers at risk of being overrun."

Suzaku stands "Suzume Suzaku, of the Suzume Hills, First Year." he bows respectfully. "I am taking military science because I believe that victories such as the victory at Three Man Alliance Plain are as much the result of strategy and science as individual bravery and both are required to repeat such battles and victories. Also, I know many stories of battle, but without understanding military science, the stories lack... well... science. They're hollow to those who understand." Suzaku bows again and sits back down.

He entered the class and bowed to the class. He found a seat in the back and sat down quoetly. Watching as those that knew who he was, whispered to eachother.(talking about other misc Students.)

Ryuha stands next.
"Mirumoto Rhuya, daughter of Mirumoto Taikishi and Fujie, Seppun-sensei," the Dragon girl calls proudly at parade rest, reciting her immediate ancestors as a Lion would do. "I am taking military sciences to prepare myself for a life of Duty to my Clan and to the Empire. The best was to do so is to be prepared."

"Hai, sir." Came Ryouko's answer, a sharp voice that rang as soon as the teacher asked if he was understood. It had the tone of reflex, the kind of knee jerk reaction that follows month of having instructions drilled into you. The Utaku blinked slightly at her own reaction, mentally chastising herself.
The introductions came, and she stood, clasping her hands behind her back and speaking clearly, her back straight. Like the Dragon before her, her stance was obviously a military parade rest. "Utaku Ryouko, sensei. Following my time on the Wall, I seek to improve my understanding of the flow of battle and better myself as a warrior." She sat back down, eyes flickering to Rhuya for a moment before turning back to the front.

"Akodo Ichiro, third year. I am taking Military Science at the request of my father Akodo Mirotai a general in the Emerald Empire's army. He told me that if i were to be allowed to come to this school to study kenjutsu I would also be required to take courses in tactics. Told me I needed knowledge to temper my fighter's fire."

Learning her lesson from the girls' dorm meeting Izumi made sure she was on time for class, checking her watch for the fiftieth time as she entered the room. She quietly took a seat preparing her stuff in a neat order, fidgeting slightly as she was looking forward to the start of this class. She really hoped to shine and further herself and her family name.
Waiting her turn Izumi sprung eagerly to her feet before bowing to the class and their teacher.
"My name is Akodo Izumi and I am taking this class to learn from those who have come before me to improve myself. I am also interested in the application of strategy and leadership in sport as well as battle."

Yoshi put away his distractions and sat up in his chair as it became his turn to speak.
"Kaiu Yoshi, third year, and I am taking this class because I feel as though my family would apreciate me furthering my studies into military tactics." he said with a respectful bow. not that it was a lie, but it sounded way more respectable than the alternative: 'I'm taking this because I've already taken something similar and I'm looking to coast...'

"Very good, class. You will all do well remember eachother's names. You will be tested afterwards," Kojima warned his students.
"Part of my Military Science class will discuss principles of leadership which is a fundamental attribute of learning the art of warfare. A Soldier serves in the line of duty but a Soldier serves best when he trusts his superior officers. The military demands a special relationship between subordinates and superiors not seen anywhere else. Which brings us to our first topic: the chain of command.
"Using standard rank structure, beginning with a Hohei, can anyone tell me what proceeds the first?"
As be waited for answers he walked behind his desk, collected a box from.his desk, and walked to the desk of his first student who answered his question.
