"I... Uh..." Uuen-Xiang pauses. "Accidents occur around me more often than around other people, Mirumoto-sensei," she admits quietly. "But I am still an Akodo. It is in my blood to hold a weapon," she says, a bit challenging, but clearly mostly out of pride.

"Calm yourself, Akodo-san. I understand. I was just asking, as it seems unusual for a Lion," Aiko says, trying to sound reasuring.

Mochihime shrugs as she leans against a wooden support beam.
"Nope, no training here either. You got a bunch of noobs, sensei!"
But honestly, how hard can it be? Cut your opponent with the sharp end of the blade. Easy, right?

Ah, if it were only that simple. Aiko runs a hand through her hair absently, sizing the girls up.
"Alright, in that case, we had best start with the very basics, such as proper grip and stance, before we go on to anything else. Once you have your bogu on, pick up a shinai and come to the center of the dojo."

Uuen-Xiang jogs over first, picking up a shinai, in the process knocking over all of the others on the rack with a rather loud serie of noise. It seems she did try to catch them, but they just all slipped right through her hands and onto the floor. She looka over sheepishly as she begins to pick them up again.

Aiko is now beginning to understand why the Akodo's father may have decided she was too clumsy to wield anything sharper than a pair of safety scissors, though she rather tactfully does not mention this fact out loud nor give any indication that this thought is crossing her mind. Instead, she just quietly and without comment, goes to help pick the shinai back up, so that the class can proceed that much quicker.

There is a mocking laugh from the back of the class.
"Heavens, this'll be good!" Sporting her trademark cocky grin Mochihime collects her shinai.

It is not the accident, but more the mocking from a fellow first years that elicits a clearly incensed huff from the Akodo, who, upon finishing stacking the shinai again, sends a look towards Aiko that very much seems to indicate that some form of challenge could be on its way, though she keeps her mouth shut for now, bristling slightly.

Aiko takes a deep breath, centering herself, "First off. If anyone shows another student anything less than total Courtesy during my classes, I will see to it that they will not enjoy the experience. Now. We are going to practice the proper grip and stances."

Asurito was about to intervene in favor of her friend, her cousin and the Emperor's peace, but the Dragon sensei did it. Different approach, but still the peace is hopefully restored.
The girl awaits with the shinai in her hands.
