As the hallways of the school fill with students and teachers all headed to their various cafeterias and lounges for their lunch breaks one in particular does his absolute Kami best to keep to himself. Mirumoto Noboru walks down the halls with the hood on his jacket up, hiding the earbuds to his discman. His eyes are closed as he stops near his locker, letting out a brief sigh that is a mixture of relief and frustration.
Same locker as last year, huh?
With that the Dragon pounds twice on the locker, the door opening just slightly as he starts to put one set of books away and get another, unaware of anyone else that may be nearby.

A small cough and a voice can be heard. "Destroying school property, Mirumoto kun? Tsk... tsk... tsk... One would guess that you would have been taught better up there in those mountains." A young woman is standing behind him dressed in white gown with a stethoscope hanging casually from her neck. Mirumoto Rey has certainly grown up since she, smelly and his sister used to spend their afternoon running and screaming around the neighbourhood, but it's not like it's a century ago. He should be able to recognise her. "Smelly?" She teases him softly. The last thing a teenager needs is his classmates picking on him. She wouldn't do that to him. It's not long ago that she was in his shoes and kami... she was picked on all the time. That book should have never been published while she was still in high school.

Noboru just sighs, his view of the person speaking to him obscured by the fact she's behind him yet the Dragon can tell when a sensei is scolding him. "I told the custodial staff this locker door was sticking last year and they never fixed it. It was the only way I could..."
Wait. That voice... Smelly?!
He turns around quickly, almost falling back into the locker behind him as the Mirumoto's eyes widen in shock at the young woman, barely a year older, standing behind him! "R-Rey-chan?! Wh-what are you doing here?!"

"Shhhh!" The Mirumoto urges him to speak softer as she does. "You will make me seem like a fool on my first day at work! Or have trouble with the law even!" She grins and pokes the boy's arm with her pen. "And you don't really want everyone to know how much of a teacher's pet you truly are, smelly." She whispers that last part. "Now, now... Be serious, call me Mirumoto sensei and follow me. To detention!" She winks and takes a step forward, but after a moment she turns back to Noboru and adds. "Act sad and pout a bit." The young woman waves her hand. "You know... Appearances."
"Shame on you, Mirumoto kun!" She speaks with her normal tone now. "Excuses are not for samurai." She starts walking and... she stops again to look behind her and talk to the boy. "I didn't ask you really. Will you have lunch with me?" She whispers yet another time.

Noboru isn't sure just what in the hell happened. One moment he's fighting with his locker, like he has every day for the past year, and the next he's following a sensei -- who happens to be someone he's known -- to detention or lunch or whatever. Confusion sets into the Dragon's face as he hefts his guitar up over his shoulder, simply offering:
"H-hai, s-sensei..."

The Mirumoto thinks about that while they walk to her office and almost giggle, but at the last moment she sees one of the students walking down the hall and stops herself. She would totally do that, but they live in a harsh world. Instead, when they enter her office she sits behind her desk. "Leave the door open, Mirumoto kun, and have a seat." She says out loud.

Noboru simply nods and does as he's instructed, perhaps thankful he can't read thoughts else he'd have a bit of a nosebleed right about now. Once he's seated the taller Mirumoto looks over to the young woman across from him and tilts his head just to the right.
"When did you become a sensei here, Mirumoto-sama?" he offers somewhat quietly, still showing signs of that shy boy she knew even back then.

Mirumoto sama? But now they are alone... He won't get away that easily with making fun of her!
The woman also tilts her head to the right and repeats his exact words. He always got mad when people did that to him. About two or three seconds later, she cannot hold a laughter.
"Mirumoto sama? Really, No kun? Have you brought lunch? Or do you expect me to grace you with my super serious teaching presence and pay for it?" She teases him obviously. "Sorry for the ruse I used to lure you into my den. It was necessary. I hope you understand it. How have you been, silly face? We haven't seen each other... like forever..."

He does start to get a bit mad when she starts repeating his words back at him, but then the laughter... Oh, that laughter that was so contagious! In that brief moment, it was like they were children again and he starts to laugh as well. Not as boisterous, but a good chuckle or two.
Once they both come down from the laughs he relaxes just a little, then pulls up his bag and pulls out a brown bag. "Iie, I had something packed this morning, Rey-san. And gomen. I..." He looks back to the door before turning back to her, "I didn't want anyone to think something was improper, especially on your first day."
When she asks how he's been, however, the slightly younger Mirumoto looks away, eyes doing everything they can to hide something behind them as he seems to reflect upon something. "You.. haven't heard, then, have you?"

Rey gets serious instantly. "I have, but I'm asking about you now." She says and reaches for his hand above the desk. "Things are easier for those that depart. Another life is laid on their feet. All they have to do is to wait..." A pause. "She was a good samurai, No kun. She won't be waiting for long. That's why I'm simply asking how have you been."
