Noboru closes his eyes, head tilted downward as he holds onto his On, but only barely.
"How have I been?"
His hands come to the cover his face, and while the pain begins to show in his voice the way the young man rubs at it is more illustrative of someone removing weariness and fatigue.
"She was my light, Rey-chan... Hikari-nee-san was my light. And the Crane..."
He goes deadly quiet as he looks up to Rey, eyes burning with a mixture of pain and smouldering anger. His body did everything it could to not quake with the fury building within him, yet she knew his body language well. He was barely holding it together, and anyone else would have to wonder just how long he'd been holding onto this. How long he'd been holding it in and what it'd done to his psyche. When he speaks again his tone is barely above a whisper, the calm before the storm. "If it weren't for that Kami damned blood feud..."
A single tear begins to fall from the Dragon's right eye, and in that moment all his pain flooded forth, yet the even the admission did little to ease any of it. Rather, it seemed to act as a stopper trying to keep down a volcano ripe for eruption. "I hate them. The Crane. The Thunders..."

Rey has been listening carefully both to the words spoken out loud and those that remained hidden deep down Noboru's heart. She raises slowly from her desk and walks to the door which she closes. Is she supposed to treat him like a patient or a friend? A child or an adult? She quickly decides that it doesn't really matter. He is a traumatised young man within her office, but nothing makes him different than the toddler she once knew, except for the burden to his soul.
She hesitantly approaches him from behind and encloses him in a tight embrace.
She has never taken particular interest in psychology, except for the obligatory classes back at the university, but she doesn't really need them. At this point, she has to see beyond the obvious.
She has never been taught how to be a great friend, except for those year back at their neighbourhood when the three of them were inseparable, but she doesn't have the time for any lessons now. She doesn't need to see beyond the obvious. There are no right words that can fix anything. She can only stand next to him so that he knows that he is not alone.
Perhaps something like that would be convincing enough, probably not, but instead Rey keeps holding him and remaining silent while tears start going down her cheeks. They are not meant for his sister, her own friend. She has already mourned and prayed for her. These ones are for him and his inability to let go and allow more than a single one to be shed.

Noboru would almost flail as Rey wraps her arms around him from behind, snapping out of his much darker mood instantly! Especially as something so soft as...
Thankfully his face is hidden from the doctor as her arms remain wrapped around him because a little bit of blood begins to trickle from the Dragon's left nostril. The blood, however, stops as his face starts to turn a shade or two blue from the lack of oxygen getting to him!

Rey is blissfully ignorant of what is happening until she feels the boy's blood pressure dropping and his breath rate becoming irregular.
"Are you alright?" She asks him and lets go of the embrace. "Fortunes! You are bleeding!" She exclaims as she steps in front of him. Her mind starts processing the various possibilities. After dismissing them one by one, she ends up to the most possible explanation. A stroke caused by an aneurysm. Without losing her focus, the young surgeon takes a deep breath and it is as if time has stopped. Noboru has no idea when the office door opened, the stretcher was brought inside and the shoji screen was pulled. "Quickly! Hop on! I'll help you! Time is of essence!"

As soon as she lets go the Mirumoto student takes a deeeep breath and begins to relax a little, proper color starting to return to his features. He blinks at the stretcher then looks up to Rey.
"Ano..."
Lightbulb started by a great deal of blushing on Noboru's part. "I-iie, Rey-chan," comes the extremely awkward reply. "I... You were just hugging me a little t-tight is all.." He then goes to run his finger under his nose as he sniffles a bit then feels the blood. Another blush and this time he looks away, not even bothering to try to explain that one.
"I'll.. b-be alright. I p-promise."

This is not a good sign. He has already started stammering. The clot is probably pressing the vessels in the left part of his brain and interfere with his ability to speak. The patient is still responsive, though. That's a good sign.
Rey is a strong young woman. She had to become if she was to succeed in her chosen field. Without hesitating or overthinking about it, she grabs Noboru by the waist and places him ontop the stretcher.
"You have no idea what is happening inside your body right now. Relax and let me handle it. I promise you that everything is going to be alright. You need an mri asap." He explains to him while pushing the stretcher towards the next room. Thank the merciful kami that the Iweko Prince is attending this school and the administration was easily convinced to install all the necessary equipment.

Noboru begins to flail as Rey starts to carry him off. She may be a good bit shorter than him, but he can't help but wonder when the hell she became stronger than him!!! Either way, the Mirumoto struggles atop the stretcher, trying to get free from this crazy woman before she does brain surgery for him being a typical male!
"Rey-chan!" he calls out, trying to get her attention while trying to not be so loud that others can hear him. "Th-that wasn't an aneurysm. That was just a nosebleed. I...."
His voice got softer, embarrassment filling the already shy Dragon as he tucked his head to look away from her.
"You... were just so soft. I... um... ano... I just got..."
He offers one of those fake coughs where the person tries to mask the word they want to get out. "... aroused..."

The Mirumoto stops just as they enter the mri room. They are alone in there.
If she does or says anything like that, she will probably traumatise him. Erectile dysfunction is a very serious issue and its roots can mainly be traced in the mind and not the body of the patient. She cannot risk causing a long lasting problem to him just because he is a normal teenager. This whole mess is her own fault. How could she imagine it though? All the symptoms pointed towards an aneurysm. It's not like she has any experience with teenagers, after all. When she was at his age, she was already in the middle of her internship dating people who were over 25.
At this point, there is not much she can do. She pushes the stretcher to a corner away of the window and the door. "Nothing to worry about." She says to him and actually manages to blush only a tiny bit. She reaches to the nearby table and offers a packet of handkerchiefs to him.
"Take your time." She encourages him and nods sagely. It doesn't take more than a second for the woman to get out of the room and to close the door behind her. She is going to wait for him in her office. All the researches agree that he won't take his time and he will be ready to return within seconds. Happy that she actually knows something about teenagers, she starts eating his lunch. He shouldn't have left it her unattended.

Noboru actually follows Rey out of the room, still blushing as he wipes the blood from his nose, doing absolutely nothing the woman probably anticipated him doing at this point. Either way, he moves over to a sink, tosses the bloody nose into a proper container marked 'biohazard', then sanitizes his hands before sitting back across from her.
"When... did you..."
"When did you finish your internship?"

She takes one last bite from his lunch and she returns the leftovers to him. "I owe you lunch, I think." She says after swallowing. "I'll get you to a super fancy place now that I've been a successful attending general surgeon for eight whole months." She looks at him and chuckles. "Only that I can't really. You wouldn't believe the lousy salaries back at the Mirumoto Central. But we can definitely go to an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet." The woman grins. She's not thinking what had just transpired. Obviously not. "Your nutritional needs must be quite... raised now that you have grown up." Please, laugh. Please, laugh so that I can do so, too. She wishes. You are killing me here. Rey barely manages to seem cool, but, at least, she does that for now.
