Eito is surprised at the oath but he accepts it with grace. "I accept your fealty Umeko of the Mantis. Your needs are my needs. Your concerns are mine. Should you ever wish to be released from your oath, ask me. The Spider believe in Love, Loyalty and Respect not duty." he offers as he offers his hand to help her stand up, clearly touched by the gesture. "Politics first but we mustn't neglect our armies. The Spider has forces, and such a fight would let us prove once again our loyalty. And atone for our mistakes." if she takes his hand he holds it for a few, squeezing it tightly. "Thank you for your trust. I won't betray it unless doing so is the only way to see our dreams realized."

She accepted the hand though she rose without needing it, smiling slightly. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Umeko said, without pulling away. "Do you intent to try and reach any other family to join the forces? I am uncertain the spiders can offer a strong enough force only by themselves."

"Oddly enough yes. There is some room to work with the other Minor clans. I also wish to see what I can do with the Imperials. Still it's going to be a tough fight and I have to confess, I am very good at getting resources, awful at planning battles. I grow weak and pale at the sight of blood, I am quite the mess."

Her eyebrow raised slightly, and she gently pulled her hand free of his. Her head tilted as she seem to consider something, absently playing with the empty fingers of her glove. Finally an amused smile flickered on her lips. "Well, as we have yet to make any decision concerning our marital status I suppose I can save you from the sigh for now." She said,mostly to herself before walking back to her seat. "Though I suppose having sex with a glove on wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've done."
She sat, arranging the long skirt around her legs. "I agree that trying to get the help of as many of the minor clans would be for the best. Not only for their bushi, but also because implicating them would make it easier to convince them to join us into the reconstruction of a major clan."

Eito smiles back. "Oh! You have a...well don't worry about it. In fact you would be or wouldn't be surprised how many people like me pale and weak during the act. Something about getting frustrated with me and wanting to take back control. Ironically by doing so they usually hand me even more in return. But if that's what it takes for family and clan then that's what it takes."
He considers her comment. "Not just that but, offering them a place in the reconstructed clans would give them a more robust claim. I have been minor clan long enough to know that only the most traditional and unambitious can be happy with such an arrangement."

She nodded, pausing as a soft knock sounded on the door. The waiter walked back in a moment later with their appetizers, and she picked up her chopstick. Umeko's eyes softened at the sight of the traditional Mantis meal, and she lowered her head, bringing her hands together and whispering. "Itadakimasu." Before attacking her food eagerly.
"Yes, the more the minor clans feel like they have their words to say, or that their own efforts mattered, the more likely they would accept to reform the great clan." She frowned, looking up at him in between two bites. "We have to be very careful however, that they do not start to feel that THEY are the strongest family and should now lead."

Eito nods slightly. "I will do my best to maintain control over them. Part of this is determined on if I am working alone or if the Spider leadership support me. I hope they will do the later." he says as he starts picking at his food as well, watching her eat with a slight bit of hunger to his eyes. "Curse my blasted conscience."

Her eyes flickered back up, and she caught his gaze. It caused her to freeze, blushing slightly. A teasing smirk played on her lips, and she bowed her head submissively, eyes sparkling with mirth. "I am yours to order, my lord..." She said huskily. It was rather unclear if the woman was teasing, tempting or testing him...

Eito takes a deep breath. "You know full well I would. So be careful about asking." he says with a teasing smile with just a bit of danger to his eyes. "Even with my compassion. After all I have no problem sharing." he takes a few bites of his food, keeping eye contact with her. "Kami, you are something else." he says admiringly.

She chuckled, shrugging slightly. "It would be a lie to say I am not very much attracted to you, Eito-san. And I am, at the moment, unattached." She let that sentence float between them, casually enjoying her meal. It tasted like home. She smiled wistfully, lost in long forgotten memories.
