He didn't care about being stared at. He was comfortable with his body and he took good care of it. Not that he had any idea that Chiyo was checking him out. He was so much lost into the stupor of being rubbed while still suffering from hangover and tired that he wouldn't notice anything.
"I would prefer to forget the day. I was not in the best of moods. I was offended by an Akodo, during economics. I then snapped at Eito-sensei. Lunch was boring. So yes let's talk about anything else really. I'm a sorry whiner when it comes to my first world problems."

She smirked at his complaints, not because they seemed to be petty or anything. Chiyo would have called that kind of day an interesting one. For someone to actually succeed at offending her takes some talent, and for her to snap at someone well...a year ago that was par for the course. A boring lunch though--that was well worth complaining about.
"The best thing about the first day of school is that it will quickly and easily be forgotten. Question is, what are you hoping to gain from it all?"

That surprised the gaijin Prince. He turned his head towards her and opened her eyes.
"I suppose tge answer I give to adults won't do in this case. Well, the next three yeats will probably be the last period of my life that I don't have any obligations. I plan to make the most of it."

He doesn’t have nearly as much to worry about when these school days are over, she thinks. He doesn’t have a future riding on however those three years end up going; for him it’s already set in stone. It’s both an enviable thing and a curse in itself. Whether or not he likes it, he has duties he’s expected to attend to after all this studying is done.
“Oh, you will,” she concludes, meeting his eye. “This school’s an experience. I’m going to miss it when it’s over. You really haven’t seen anything yet.”

"You are probably correct." He agreed.
"It will get better, I will get over my insecurities and my first world problems and I will stop obsessing about things that make other people laugh. It had been two shitty days, with some fleeting moments of respite, that will probably come to bite me in the ass. You know me well enough to know that I am not that often in this kind of mood or mess. Thank you for hearing me out without being too judgemental."
He was blissfully unaware of the grimaces Hiroko was making as she rubbed him. Her feelings did not influence the quality of her work and Tarik was soon relaxed and feeling far better than he had since the previous day.

"That being said, it's a jungle out there," she added in a more serious tone. "You can't let people walk all over you unless it's to loosen the knots in your back. The tricky part is standing your ground like a samurai. We can't let our emotions get the better of us, but let me tell you, it's really, really hard."
Oops. She didn't mean to be honest. Oh well, that one's free, she guessed. Next one's gonna cost something.
"You'll have it figured out soon enough. If you want I can even talk to the Lion that gave you grief in the first place."

"Screw her." He responded. "She is irrelevant and hardly worthy of our time. Surely you would have better things to do."
He had not closed his eyes and was looking at her. He made a nod of appreciation though.
"Are you sure I can't offer you anything? I am about to switch to a cocktail."

Alright. Well, she’ll let that one go. He’s clearly done talking about it. Besides, Chiyo wasn’t all that interested in picking fights with some random Lion. It’d probably be a waste of everybody’s time, much like Tarik has already discerned.
“Ah...I suppose...do you have lemonade?”

"Even if I don't have, a servant will go fetch one." He responded and then adresses the house AI.
"House, send to me a melon daiquiri and a lemonade."
Hiroko was done and he got up to bow to her. The monk bowed to both of them and left. He returned to his chair and laid back.
"I think I owe you one more apology." He said but stopped as the servants showed up with their drinks.

Chiyo gave the departing monk a light bow as she completely removed her attention from the gaijin. She’s gotten a pretty good eyeful so far; she can’t complain. For the most part she doesn’t think Tarik noticed it at all.
This house is...really just too much. Now she wasn’t sure if she could trust a lemonade mystically summoned into existence by a house. Or freshly squeezed. Can houses even do that?
That was when Tarik brought up the second apology. What’s this all about?
“For?”
