"Eh, I draw. I want to be a mangaka."
Which her mother of course doesn't think is a 'real' artform.
"You like manga?"

"Some of it is truly fine" she admits "Moving... Emotional. I like ti for the same reason I like most art. It displays raw emotion without on. It allows us to see what someone feels in a respectable way"

"Well, yes..." Reiha smiles shyly. "But to many it isn't true art. It is still young, I guess..."
The Doji shrugs.
"Okaa-sama isn't too fond of it..."

"Would you let me see some of it some time? Can I get it if I just walk into a store? I would love to know a little more of your soul, your emotion"

"I think you should enroll in any history and etiquette classes you can, Roduregu-san," Isao suggested. He was attempting to be sincere and not merely be a dick; the gaijin seemed to know nothing about Rokugan beyond having a loose grasp of the language. So, cultural understanding would do him well. "If Fuyuko-sensei approves it, I could offer to tutor you in the mornings, before class. I will look into how she feels about training a gaijin... But Tarik-san was in class yesterday, even if he didn't do very well." Rodrigo put his hands on his hips, and nodded. "I have enrolled in etiquette and law. History might serve well too. As for tutoring, well...if it is approved, I would be happy to have you tutor me."

"Law is a wonderful class to pair with Iaijutsu" Uetani states "The two walk hand in hand in our culture. It may be that you show the soul of a samurai after all"

Rodrigo grinned at the comment. Well, at least he was doing something right.
"Well, I took it mostly because I did not want to run around breaking any, but that is good to hear."

Isao adjusted his glasses.
"I still need to shower before class, so I'll be going," he announced, grabbing his gym bag. The young Crane bowed to everyone, notably Doji Reiha whom he had arrived with.
"Good luck in class today, everyone."
He shouldered the bag and walked out, heading back to the boy's dorm.

Reiha laughs nervously.
"Eh, you won't any manga written by Doji Reiha. Yet." She gives herself an imaginary thumbs-up for avoiding the question without lying. "I guess I could show some of my drawing, yes." Ok, she'll have to draw some in a different style than her published work!
As Isao bows she returns it, deeper than him actually.
"May the Fortunes bless you, Isao-sempai."

Uetani bows to, to her younger kinsman and then turns back to the Doji
"I would be honoured if you would. I was trained in the art of the blade, not the written word, but perhaps you would honour me by letting me write you a poem?"
