"As long as i progress forward making 'gains'. Be it 5 pounds or 50 pounds. Gains are gains." He said as he practiced the strike again. "My Father said that the word 'cant' is admitting defeat when progress isn't made. However admitting that you are 'not there yet' shows that you are still working on achieving your goal." he resets and tries the form again. "I am not a skilled duelst. today, but i will be one in the future." he smiled to her. His confidence shown through his meager technique and sub par form.

She nods at him. "The work will be hard, you will need to unlearn and relearn to adapt what I know into your technique. But your father is right. It is doable. And I have faith in you."

"Hard training is good." He breathes slowly. "I think its just the students." He performed another strike. "When i was in the heavy weapons class, the sensei treated all of us as beginners. So i did the exercise half heartedly, and gave some lip to Hida sensei. He thought that i was just a slacker. When we spared, i almost beat him. I think he understood me better. I let my skill do the talking."

Fuyuko cocks her head. "I don't know heavy weapons well, but do note that it takes me considerable effort not to kill my students when I spar them. Keep that in mind when making an evaluation."

"Well, he did tell me not to hold back. So i used all the tricks my father taught me. It proved very effective." He paused to wipe the sweat from his brow. "Then in kenjutsu class. I tried my best and did what Mirumoto sensei said. But this other student was mocking my efforts. It felt like he had something against me. And i got angry and attacked him." He said as he went back into the stance reseting his posture.

Fuyu frowns. "You lost your courtesy. Please do note this is a common technique some use. I would advise you to work on that as well. Many have attacked me to get me to attack poorly." she says firmly.

"Or they could just be jerks." He lets out a sharp kiai. His stance looks pretty good with some minor adjustments. His grip however seemed too tight, like he was holding on for dear life.
