Mako rushed over to the Asako as she fell into the water, only for the girl to surface as she got close, "Oh my goodness!? Are you okay!? Did you hit your head?" She was touching the other girl's head, as she asked, trying to look through her hair for anywhere she got hurt, "You have to be more careful! You can get seriously injured if you slip and fall!" Mako knows all about slipping and falling, and all the pain that comes with that.

Ryoko blushed at the pair showed their compassion for her plight even despite their different ways of doing so. As she gets the barrage of questions from Mako, the little Phoenix offers sheepishly, "Fall down seven times, stand up eight?"
She then swallowed a little, offering, "It... happens a lot, actually. Kenjutsu practice. Kyujutsu practice. Dance lessons. While meditating..." While meditating? "I'm just... unlucky. I even played in a Kaijumon tournament today and opened a pack of nothing but common cards."

"Oh... oh my." She blinked at the unlucky woman, and patted her softly, "It will be okay. I'm super lucky, so if you hang out with me, maybe my good luck, and your bad luck will like... become neutral luck, and we'll both be pretty happy, eh?" She winked at the Asako, giggling a little, "If you want, I can buy some... Kaijumon? Cards for you, too!" She seemed all happy about finding something small to bond over.

"One of my siblings is into Kaijumon and I was under the impression that the packs had at least one rare and a couple uncommons in addition to the common ones," Sakura contributes, a bit incredulous.

Ryoko just nods slowly to them both, frowning at the thought of her pack containing all commons. "The.. last time I opened up a box of packs," she offers rather sheepishly. "I didn't get a single rare or shiny card."
Then Mako makes her offer to buy the Asako some cards and she shakes her head slowly. "Iie, I couldn't ask you to do that, Otomo-sama. We just met and I would feel bad if you did that. But I absolutely appreciate the offer."
The other, about being lucky, causes the brown-haired girl to consider a moment, "And does luck work like that? Can your good luck negate my bad luck, or will you just have good luck and I have bad?" Strangely, she didn't shy away from the patting and instead seemed to purr just a little. Yes, purr.

Sakura blinks a bit, "That is most unusual. I would have thought that there was a fixed rate of rares and shiny cards appearing in packs that would ensure a number per box. Moreo is always talking about the pull chances and what not. Perhaps I should have paid better attention."

"I dunno, but if like... you have bad luck, but I want you to be happy, and I have good luck, and my good luck helps make me happy... then shouldn't my good luck work against your bad luck that makes you unhappy?" She didn't know how luck worked! Luck was luck. This made as much sense as anything! "And I don't care if we just met! 'A stranger on the road is tomorrow's greatest ally'. Though I don't care about allies, I just like having friends." She kept petting the purring girl, after the pats were met with so much enjoyment.

Ryoko just continued to purr contentedly as Mako kept petting her. "Isn't it said that friends shouldn't hold onto the past, they should hold onto each other?" The Phoenix seemed to offer an almost kitten-like smile to the attentions she was receiving, eyes closed. If she had a tail it would probably be swaying back and forth with contentment.
"And.. you'd be right, Mirumoto-san. I just have really bad luck is all. Like when I fell in Otomo Katsumi-sensei's kyujutsu class the other day while firing an arrow. It still hit, but I still fell."
