Miya Asurito walks across the school yard while rolling her bike next to her. She hasn't gone to the animal centre, where she offers volunteer work, for over a week now and the time seems as good as any. She takes her cellphone out of her pocket and looks at the screen pondering whether she should text Uetani for that sleepover invitation or not. / Doji Reiha

Reiha had been let out to, well, let's just say certain facilities are rather difficult to use for foxes and for the rest it's really none of your business, thank you very much!
She's deep in thought, she was supposed to call her mother yesterday evening and tell her about her first week at RHS. That, obviously, has not happened, so what was she going to tell her? And lying is what got her stuck in fox form in the first place, not to mention is well aware of that particular taboo of hers...
Which is when someone nearly trips over her!
<Hey, watch where you're going!>, the kitsune yips angrily.
Miya-sempai... It's Miya-sempai!
<Oh! I'm sorry, Miya-sempai! I wasn't really paying attention either...>, less angry, still just barks and yips.
Kuso!

The Miya stops at the last moment before stepping on both of the fox's tails and reactively takes a step back at the angry yipping and barking.
"Sorry, little one!" She apologises. "I was kind of distracted." She bends over the fox when she seems to calm down and smiles broadly. "Why are you even alone out here? Are you lost?" Asurito hesitantly extends her hand checking the fox's reactions before petting it.

She's made such a big fuss about not wanting to be petted, and Asurito had outright said she wasn't interested in her, but... she smells soooo nice. Mom always said she would know who the right one was, and for her, it's not the clothes or the looks, though Asurito is definitely pretty, but it's scent. And the Miya's, well, it's perfect...
So, even if she feels like she deceiving her, she can't help but sniffing the outstretched hand and stepping closer she could be petted...

"Aww... Aren't you a sweetie!" The herald exclaims as the fox approaches and starts scratching her behind the ears. "Please, don't judge the smell. I'm not at my best right now." She says and laughs reactively with the fluffiness of her fur.
Asurito notices the two tails. "Oh! Are you a spirit, little one? My roommate has two tails, as well, but she doesn't like showing them." She stops scratching her, places her bike down and sits on the ground next to the fox. "If you are a spirit, it would be a good time to show yourself instead of trying to get all the petting, alright?" Reiha though, had specifically stated that spirits want to stay in Ningen do in their human form. "Probably not! Awww... come here!" She takes the fox on her lap and starts scratching her again. "You're so soft and fluffy! Someone must be missing you terribly."

As Asurito puts her on her lap she freezes for a moment. This is really dishonest, no? The Miya girl does not want her, and well, it's not as if she would even consider doing this when she is in human form! And she should be upset about the 'someone must be missing you' part. As if she is a pet with a master!
But... It's Asurito, and even if it is embarrassing or a 'trick', so close to her she is like putty in her hands...
<I think you are really pretty and... and you smell divine... and I can't put you out of my mind. I'm sorry!>
Which translates as a lot of rather happy fox noises and looking up adoringly with those golden eyes.

The Miya continues her efforts to spoil the fox in silence until she turns to look at her. "Awww, just like Yu! Eskimo kiss for you asap!" She exclaims and rubs her nose against the fox's.
"Yu is Takeshi san's best buddy. I was hoping to see them today at the animal centre and find a cool dog to gift to my roommate, but you take priority now, little one. I hope that Rei chan really likes you, because boy! I messed up really hard and I need to do something super good or I'll end up sleeping in the door mat for the whole year and totally deserve it."
The girl scratches the back of her head for a moment. "I just hope that no one comes to get you back. I'll have to put some posters around campus tomorrow, though. But! For now, it's just the two of us!" She raises the fox to stand to her back feet and looks at it. "Ok, you're a girl. Good to know. I'll have to come up with a name, I suppose. Will you be my best and only friend, little princess? It's just one day. How much can I screw things up in just one day?" She smiles broadly at the fox. "I promise that I will take very good care of you!"

Reiha is vaguely aware that this is leading to, well, disaster, or at the very least more awkwardness, but Asurito likes her, even if she treats her as a pet, and that's what matters, the only thing that matters. Even if it is for just a little while, and if it's not 'real', she can't say no to that.
The kitsuni yips happily, still looking at Asurito with adoration.

Asurito keeps petting the fox and talking and talking and talking... With seemingly no intention to stop. Apparently she has a lot to say. Her tone is rather passive, almost unhappy, in general.
"I don't do well with people, you see... Most of the people I know just put up with me because of my family name. Only a few actually like me and even with them, I don't really speak. Just doing sports and the like."
"Takeshi san and I have a pretty sweet deal. Sometimes he calls me and we go out with his friends and he helps me spend my money so that my parents don't whine a lot." She changes her tone. "You need new clothes, Asurito chan. And get a car, when will this bike nonsense come to an end. New cellphone. New laptop. Lol." The girl chuckles, but she seems more miserable by now. "Parents, right? Apparently I need a whole bunch of new stuff and I don't even know it."
"There is Doji Tetsuko san, of course. We go cycling and beats me in the dojo. Once we even went to cinema with some friends of hers. She seems to like me so yesterday I texted her and she allowed me to sleep in her room. She even gave me one of her sweat suits so that I could wash mine. We are kind of homeless for now, you see, little one, but I need fresh clothes so tomorrow I will go apologise and, hopefully, Rei chan won't hate my guts for much longer." She looks at the fox. "You are going to help me, right? I'm too much of an idiot and I need all the help I can get. I'll give you all the hugs and the best snacks ever, in return. That's a promise."
Asurito rises with the fox in her arms. "You know what. Let's start the feast right away. It's not like I have anywhere to be." She looks at her bike. "Hmm... That's challenging. I cannot really trust a sly fox to follow me, right?" She scratches her ears. "You would leave me alone, as well, wouldn't you?" The herald opens her backpack and takes a powder blue hoodie out. She puts it on, places the fox inside, too, and pulls the zipper. "Nice and safe. We'll be there asap!" She gets on her bike and heads to the cafeteria.

"Takeshi san and I have a pretty sweet deal. Sometimes he calls me and we go out with his friends and he helps me spend my money so that my parents don't whine a lot." She changes her tone. If only you could see how much we have in common, Miya-sempai!> It might be Asurito's imagination, but the kitsune sounds as if she is commiserating, and is the look in her eyes full of loving understanding? "There is Doji Tetsuko san, of course. We go cycling and beats me in the dojo. Once we even went to cinema with some friends of hers. I don't think I like her...<No! I don't hate you! I love you! I am the one who screwed up!> The fox certainly does not sound averse to helping, though she does seem to attempt to communicate something else as well... Asurito rises with the fox in her arms. "You know what. Let's start the feast right away. It's not like I have anywhere to be." She looks at her bike. "Hmm... That's challenging. I cannot really trust a sly fox to follow me, right?" What are you...?But then she is zipped into a hoodie, close, tight and intimate. Pressed against Asurito's bossom. Good thing foxes don't blush. I'm never going to turn human again! Utterly irrational, and, well, impossible, but it's a nice thought for at least a little while.
