Mako blinked at the Utaku's statements, trying to match them up with anything... and then giggled, "Nooo~ hugging is great." She beams at the Battle Maiden with a big smile, "I mean, the Ide always taught 'While the closest connection is in spirit, the simplest is of body. Through the simple connections, we can create more meaningful ones.'" She recited the knowledge as if it had been said to her a dozen times... and then moved to attack the Utaku with a hug! Just a small one, of the Utaku's arm, squishing herself against the arm~

Hinata blinked in surprise as she watched this happen.
"...Otomo-sama, she just said she did not like hugging. Why did you hug her? Is that not disrespectful?"

Utaku Hitomi all but gasped as the the Otomo grasped her. On the one hand touching was inappropriate on the other hand though. This was an Imperial a member of the royal family a woman with honor without reproach. She swallows nervously and looks at the Otomo. "Otomo-Sama... if you would please... I... I'm not to comfortable with the hugging." Even if it was light.

Eito frowns. "Otomo-san. Please. Not everyone has the same values. Even within the same clan. I know some Spider who would break my face if I hugged them and we also rarely have that taboo." On account of the no honor mostly.

Mako smiled, and as soon as the Utaku said that, released her, "Well, okay~! But if you ever want to see why all the Unicorn love a nice hug now and again! I am totally open. I mean I lived among them long enough..." She laughed at herself, and just smiled sweetly at the Utaku.

Utaku Hitomi smiled at Otomo Mako and bowed her head. "I apologize Otomo-Sama... It's just that... I never got to interact with anyone much and my parents always told me that Samurai should never engage in physical contact with one another. They constantly told me how a man and a woman should not be left alone in a room together without a supervisor... I guess... I'm just not used to the outside world."

She didn't wanna insult Hitomi's family, because that would be the direst thing she could do, but it sounded as bad as being abandoned, to be honest - perhaps even worse, since it meant Hitomi never got lessons from outside it, "I'm sorry that I pushed you, I thought you were just being extreme. But I see that it's something you were raised with." A small bow, "While I think it's unfortunate, it's your life. And I shan't push you again."

"You're not lowly to me, Hitomi-san." She blinked, tilting her head, "Our birth is all that separates us there. I'm a student, same as you, and we likely have some things in common. Why should I hold myself above you right now? Perhaps one day I will be above you, and it will change, but for now, you do not need to have this respect. We're all students, the same as each other. Except him." She pointed at Eito, "He's a Sensei." She cracked a grin, and covered her chuckle with a few fingers.

She blinks a few times. "But you are an Otomo. The Otomo's are members of the Imperial family. The Imperials are meant to be respected and looked up to. That's what I was always told at any rate..."
