Eito smiles lightly. "I see, like I said, I don't require you to play any game you don't want to play. So let us do this one. The company is to my benefit, not yours. I ask please that you accept some token from me. May I buy you this meal?"

"Mm." She pondered it for a moment, and then offered a palm to him, "Then fine. I will drop the games. I will take your gift." She said it with that same doji-like smile, that made her look like she knew exactly what she was doing. In fact, she knew nothing about what she was doing, besides talking to a dishonorable spider who was complimenting her and buying her food.

Eito chuckles softly. "It's not to push you either way really. Some people do those games for themselves, and for those people I have no trouble making them comfortable. Some do them for others. To appear correct to society, to seem right, noble, honorable. I would rather those people just be comfortable around me and be themselves. I don't like to wear masks of any kind, visible or performative. Makes it easier for people to see me."

"Everyone wears masks." The Togashi said it neutrally, but kept a smile on her face, "Especially those who claim they don't." A little laugh into a hand, as she looked over his face, seeming to consider it for a long moment, "But that does not mean that a mask is always known to exist, nor that it is always used to manipulate others. But I doubt you would share with me your innermost problems, that keep you awake at night, mm? Is that not a mask of it's own?"

Eito raises his brow then smirks. "I am worried that in trying to bring back the Spider I am making the same mistake I made when I trusted my clan the first time and whether or not I have been blinded by my love for the clan." he states matter of factly. "Do you know the best part about being dishonorable, and everyone believing that everyone wears masks? I could look a beautiful woman right in the eye, tell her my deepest, darkest terrors, and she will doubt every word that comes out of my mouth. There is something strangely electrifying about it."

The monk woman could only laugh softly at that, even as she blushed very lightly - allowing Eito to see it this time, not hiding it behind her fan, instead just giving a smile, "Well, I suppose I'll have to have my doubts, that you seem to know so much about. Forgive me this." A twirl of a piece of hair, as she watched him, "You're not what I expected of a Spider, at least. Or perhaps exactly what I should have expected. But the Temples have never been ones to claim all people are a certain way, even when others do."
A moment later, "Do you trust in everything people say to you, then? If you refuse to believe the masks, do you not make yourself more vulnerable to the lies they present as not being from the mask?"

"Forgiven easily and without any effort." he says before sipping some water, keeping those soft charming eyes on her. "I will chose to take that as a compliment. Being both exactly what is expected and unexpected is something I love to hear." his eyes sparkle as he once more leans forward. "Yes and no. I know very well that people lie but I admit I am somewhat unguarded. So as any Shibatsu I try to use my charm as a screen. I may be taken for a ride but many times I take control of the wheel halfway through and someone who successfully lied to me is suddenly confiding in me." He rests his head casually on his hand. "See Shibatsu are trained in the art of charm, it is our job to make people like us in spite of themselves. If we are being honest is it working? And more importantly, does it bother you?"
