"Our first actual meeting or the first time we spoke to each other?" she asks, her smile a little humorous.

"Lets go with both, if you are willing to share"

"The first time we met was in this very school. I was in the infirmary, asking for cold medication," she says, tapping a finger on her chin to recall. "Bayushi Makubesu-sensei brought her in. Her skull looked shattered, blood everywhere. She was delirious."
"I assisted however I could, of course. But we had no opportunity to speak. She apparently remembered me as some messenger of Emma-O."
"The first time we spoke to one another was a little more interesting."

She smiles "No wonder she is so taken, if you are a messenger of Emma-O. Tell me if you would, of the first time you spoke?"

"It happened right over…" She points to a spot not far away. "There. A few days ago."
"She was speaking with a few students and Mirumoto Aiko-sensei. I was some distance away, and hoping Aiko-sensei would invite me to join. Then I noted that this short woman with the piece covering her eyes seemed familiar."
"Now, I had been a little tipsy at the time. I approached her. When she finally noticed me, I recognized her as that bloody, concussed girl from years ago. And she remembered me, but not as the messenger of Emma-O. To her, I was just another of the many people she met in high school."
"We began talking. I let slip that I found her as terrifyingly beautiful now as I did then. She admitted she could not remember me. We spoke of the past a little. And then she asked me out on a date, worded so I wouldn't know it was one."
"And then a boy walked in, I threw a bucket at him, and the mood was ruined."

She laughs "Oh but that I were a year older, and a few days earlier and I might have wooed you myself" she is obviously joking "I am gladdened that you have been able to reconnect, and fine some brightness to cut through the pain of life"

She laughs again. "I'd have thought you a little too young. But who knows? It wouldn't be the first drastic age difference in my history," she says, though more for levity than encouraging Uetani's interest.
"But yes, finding each other…it has been beyond words." Her tone is appreciative, calm. A quiet jubilation behind the voice. "I cannot even begin to describe how I feel."

She listens and nods as the poem is spoken. "It sounds lovely."
"Poetry is yet another trait you share with her," she says, smiling in appreciation. "I swear by the Lords of Death, you two are very much alike."

That makes her flush "You are kind to say so... I admire her a lot, and to be like her would be to achieve many of my dreams"
