The taxi cab that had been carrying Tamori Yoshi came to a stop outside a set of wrought iron gates set in a wall. Beyond the gate was a swampy looking area with what looked like a half buried forgotten graveyard in it. Yoshi almost would have thought this the wrong place except the now familiar face of Jio, the ronin bodyguard, was standing outside the gates with his arms crossed. He looked at Yoshi as he got out of the cab, Jio wearing a crisp suit with a headset in his ear. He said nothing though, merely staring.

"Um... good evening, Jio-sa... er... sama," Yoshi says, bowing to the imposing man. Yoshi really had nothing nicer to wear than the green polo he'd had on the previous night, so he'd washed both it and himself in order to look his best when meeting Momiko's family. He mentally goes over her list of "do"s and "don'ts" from yesterday, clutching Bayushi Chiyo's handkerchief in his pocket to reassure himself he'd remembered it, which he had also washed in preparation for tonight. Then he also remembered "check any outside items with the staff".
"I... only brought this handkerchief, as instructed," he tells the bodyguard, showing it to him before pocketing it again.

"Yeah, that's fine..."
Jio gave a little bit of a sigh and untensed a little as he took off his sunglasses, even though he was facing towards the then setting sun, "Look kid, you up for maybe talking a little before we head in? I feel like you and I got off on the wrong foot, and I want to make sure of some things before I take you to Momiko-sama."
The tall man's stare was weary, like he had a weight on his mind.

"Oh... um... certainly, Jiro-sama," Yoshi agrees, inclining his head in deference. The man was a samurai, technically, not a servant, so Yoshi didn't think this particularly violated the instruction to ignore and let servants get on with work. "Can we... walk and talk, though? I don't want to be late arriving. Also... I don't... think you made a bad first impression, if that... worries you." He couldn't really imagine much worrying the man, but Jiro's words did make him seem that way. However, the foot he'd gotten off to with Yoshi was the sort he was paid for, as far as the young Dragon was concerned, so he didn't hold it against the man.

"Is that so? ...fine, we'll do that then."
The man took out a key and turned around, unlocking the gate and motioning Yoshi to head into the cemetery before him.

Yoshi leads the way briefly, presuming that Jiro had sent him on ahead in order to lock the gate behind them. However, he stops after a short distance and waits for the bodyguard, since he's not entire sure where it is they're going.
"So... what was it... you wanted to make sure of?" Yoshi asks, trying to rekindle the conversation. His voice is low and respectful, given their current surroundings.

The is indeed the idea as Jio closes and locks the gate behind them. As soon as the key clicks the lock though, the scene in front of Yoshi chances; The swampy ruins immediately disappear, replaced by an absolute massive manor, sitting amongst gardens and forests, a road leading up from the gate to the front of the building.
Jio grunts, "I wished to ask you, man to man, what your intentions are with the young miss; I would not want to see her come to more trouble in this chance for freedom."

Yoshi is momentarily taken aback by how high-tech, or high-magic, the mansion security is. It also appeared to him to be even bigger than Otomo Katsumi's manor. It was more imposing at least, that much was certain. Looking around to take in all of the new scenery, he begins to follow Jiro up the road. When Jiro asks after his intentions, he clears his throat as he ponders the question, noting the odd phrasing used about Momiko's "freedom".
"Oh, I... sort of expected that question from her father," Yoshi answers. The rest seems a bit rehearsed, but the sincerity of it can't be denied. "I... am her friend, and intend to be her friend for as long a she'll have me... though, as I've told her as well directly, when she feels she's ready to date someone, I would be honored if she would consider me. All I would ask of you is that you give me a chance to earn your respect and blessing to do so. Um... except... yeah, that part was definitely more for her father, but I would be humbled by the opportunity to earn yours as well, Jiro... -sama."

"No, Nozoru-sama would likely not ask such a thing. He is not home at the moment anyways. You must understand, he has very little to do with Momiko-sama's life, at the Mistress' request. Much like she has little to do with the girl's life as well. Thus I take it upon myself to look out for her well being. Perhaps it is not my place. But I have felt, in the past, that if I did not, then no one would."
He stopped there, interested in seeing how much of this would come as a surprise to the young Tamori; It would indicate just how much Momiko had told him or not about her home life.

"Oh, that's... sad to hear," Yoshi says, his face falling on Momiko's behalf. "She told me that her father was nice, and that her mother was the one who saw to her homeschooling more than anyone else." He rubs the back of his neck, trying to recall anything about Momiko's words or deeds that corroborated Jiro's testimony rather than contradict it. All could think of was the general sense that he and she were very alike, and negligent parents sounded very much like his own.
