"Hai, that's right. The green room can seat sixteen people, but large parties are held in the dining hall. There's two long tables there that can each seat eighty. So if there was a social function."
If Momiko had been to Katsumi's party last week, she would have used that as an example. But she hadn't so she didn't.

"I... haven't really been to many social functions... and none of that size," Yoshi says, honestly as far as he could tell. Katsumi's party would've proved a poor comparison even if Momiko had gone, since Yoshi never really made it anywhere beyond the Grand Foyer and a small library that served as one of the many overflow rooms. It was also less "social function" than it was almost a full-on rave, what with the buffet-style food, DJ spinning dance music, and at least two people sneaking off to copulate in one of the bedrooms; not that Yoshi knew about the third one either.
"My parents sometimes hosted important people for dinner, but only a few at a time," he continues. "Plus... they usually made me stay in my room when they did."

Momiko nods, "Well, with mother running a billions of Koku business, there tend to be larger gatherings. Here we are anyways."
She opened the door and Takano finally let go of her, going into the room and doing a twirl while Momiko stayed next to Yoshi. The room almost looked like something from Harry Potter mixed with a palace feast hall, a large bank of windows facing out to a garden with two long tables on either side of the room. A smaller table sat raised up on the end opposite the windows, and the walls were decked with paintings. The lighting were a series of crystal chandeliers that hung from the high ceiling.

Unlike Takano, Yoshi doesn't leave Momiko's side as the door opens, it taking him a good while just to look over the entire massive room. He almost doesn't feel worthy to enter into it, with its fine art, imposing windows, and expensive, ornate lighting. However, the raven-haired girl twirling in like she owned the place, as she one day would, did a little to ease that feeling, and he smiles as he watches her.
"Do you think we'll be seeing your mother again before I have to go?" Yoshi asks at the mention of Mei. He wonders now, in light of all the talk about dating that had happened since after they'd left dinner, if he should try to better gauge how much of her approval he had... or might be able to receive in the future. They'd had words about his earning her respect when she'd almost left prematurely, but that hardly covered the matter of actually dating her daughter.

Momiko looks over at Yoshi as Takano goes over to one of the tall backed chairs and sits in it, taking out a cell phone and looking at something, "Mother? I... suppose I don't know. It seemed like she was having some of her lung issues before we left, so maybe she went down to get some oxygen. And... well, she's unpredictable sometimes. Still, if you wanted to, I'm guessing it wouldn't be that hard to get her to see you off or such."

"I wouldn't want to bother her if she isn't feeling well," Yoshi replies quietly, though it was hard not to echo in the large empty room, "but... I do want to be sure that she's ok with you... going on actual dates... with me."
He was feeling rather lost regarding the whole etiquette of dating, especially as it related to parents, just as much as he was feeling similarly lost inside the mysterious mansion whose main dining hall he now occupied; it seemed like there was a great deal left to explore, and he had so far only seen a small portion. He does know, in this moment, that he wants Momiko to show him both.
"I know you brought dating up in front of her," he clarifies, "but at the time, you said you weren't sure what it even meant and the conversation sort of moved on to other subjects." He feels a little silly for letting their earlier talk get carried away with genetic manipulation and superheroism, when the actual topic of dating was the one that he was least certain and most worried about.

Momiko nodded and was about to speak up when a flash came from Takano's phone. Momiko looked over to see a grinning Takano holding up her phone with the camera pointed at the two of them. Momiko gives a small roll of her eyes before zipping over to Takano. Yoshi can see the two half-sisters arguing quietly but heatedly, Takano trying to keep the phone away from Momiko.

"Can I see it?" Yoshi asks casually, trying to defuse the situation while walking over to them. He chuckles lightheartedly, continuing, "I bet I look awful, like 'whoa, this is a big dining room' or 'whoa, your mom is scary' or something." He mugs outlandishly stupefied and frightened faces to illustrate his words as he comically suggests how he might have ruined the photo.

Takano stops dodging, looking at Yoshi as he walks up. Momiko chooses that moment to snatch the phone away, looking at the screen. Takano makes a sound of indignation, "I mean yeah, you look like a total dork, Tamori-sama, but it's still a cute picture. And it's mine."
Momiko sighs, looking at it on her own, "...you're right I suppose."
She hands the phone back, looking at Yoshi, "As long as you don't mind a mischievous imp having your photo."

"I don't mind... if she thinks we're cute," he says to Momiko with a grin, glancing at Takano as well. He takes another look around the great hall, saying, "I wish my phone had a camera on it... or I'd take a picture of us too." His circuitous gazing alights last upon Momiko, and he smiles broadly at her. A moment after he pays her this compliment, he remembers he didn't even bring his phone, because he would've had to check it with Jio at the door anyway.
