After a long day of classes, Bai decided it was about time to partake in his favorite pastime, continuing a heated campaign against his most heated rival. He had faced this foe on the battlefield many times before, and would likely face them many times again. That was just how these sort of things went, after all. Neither side would relent, neither side could keep the upper hand for long. Bai's army was war-weary, wounded, and weakened, while with weapons in hand and wisdom in mind, withstanding would seem within reach. The army of the Dreaded Enemy was also deployed, deadly dreadnoughts, dug-in death dedicated to delivering damnation upon the defiant dissenters. Dirges will descend, which die will be seen.
Bai sat alone at a table, before him a dozens of models and origami in front of him. The figures were arranged into two groups facing each other. From time to time, he would move one piece or another, sometimes a couple at a time. Sometimes he would roll a six sided die, usually a few times. Usually this would be followed by jotting down notes in a journal. occasionally, this would be followed by a piece being removed from the board.

Kogeki is heading back in with his kitchen whites, he is coming back with a tired sort of limp from his date/job and heading to clean up for the sleepover. While he walks he notices the...whole bunch of stuff on the table. He cocks his head as he looks at it, the large punk with the pierced nose and spider mon on his cooking uniform. "Huh...are you winning?" he asks with no small bit of curiosity.

Bai nods without looking up. "Indeed! This one here has been having a lucky streak," he motions to what appears to be a small plastic samurai on horse back, bow drawn "while these two have been effective at keeping him from putting that luck to much use on anything big." he points at two figures on separate sides of the horse archer, an origami tiger and a modeled kenku swordsman, both staring down their pray "This one was able to get break enemy lines due to a miscalculation on my part, but those always provide the most interesting outcomes. I do not know if the reserves will be able to repel the assault, or at least give the rest of the army time to reform into better lines." he motions first to an origami frog, then to an origami crane, the latter turned directly to face the former.
After explaining the situation, or at least providing what sounded like an explanation, he finally looks up to the person who asked him the question. Bai isn't sure what he was expecting, but it certainly wasn't that. "Oh! I would be called Shiba Bai. I do not believe we have met yet."

Kogeki looks at the board with some curiosity, his mind trying to make sense of it all. "How do you know how they are doing? Is it just like pretend or is there a way? Did these guys calculate for like...their mood and stuff? Like what if Frog guy is hungry? He wouldn't be too good at fighting then. Or what if bird guy and tiger guy are married? Or is this just like, base theory-crafting stuff. Can you win?" he asks with curiosity before he breaks into a wide grin.
"Gyushi Kogeki, a pleasure to meet you Shiba Bai."

"There are rules, although I have had to make accommodation for my stand ins." He looks back at the board, scratching the back of his neck. "Mostly how things are measured really. A lot of the little things are left to random chance, as determined by the roll of dice. Indeed, much more would require extremely complicated rules, at the least."
He flips over to a page in his notebook, where he has a table marked with various numbers and letters. "I know the base rules well enough, but keep a reference for troop stats. As for winning..." he considers his answer for a moment. "well, on the one hand, I am playing against myself, so in this specific case I will both win and lose, unless a draw is reached. On the other hand, one can say that most every game ends in a victory for all sides playing, especially when one plays with a friend. So I suppose yes, indeed definitely yes!" He smiles up to the much larger Spider.

The Spider nods his head as he looks down. "I don't wanna interrupt bird guys winning streak or I would ask you to teach me how to play this. Seems like a hard game. Mind you never got to try anything like it before. Not really seen much of this sort of stuff." he says scratching his head as he looks over the board. "You make the oragami or do you buy it premade?"

He shrugs. "A hobby I picked up." Bai considers his work "Paper is cheaper than plastic. But I would be happy to teach you. Indeed, I must admit I would not have expected one who looked as you do to be interested, but it is really not that hard."

Kogeki gives a frown. "Whats that supposed to mean. You saying I look dumb or something?" he says a flash of anger on his face a moment. "That I wouldn't be able to understand?"

Bai holds his hands out defensively. "No. I could not say how smart you are. You just look like someone who is..." He considers his answer carefully, looking for the right words, the most accurate words. "...punchy? Yes, I think that will do. You look like someone who would rather run out punching, indeed. Kinda scary. Does that makes sense? It is not a bad thing. I think you carry it well, and you seem like a nice person. Just a bit scary looking."

Kogeki frowns. "What? I... yeah I know how to punch. I punch anyone who calls me dumb." he says with a glare before he rolls his eyes. "Aint gunna punch you though. Just don't say that stuff about people ok? Just looked like an interesting game. It seems like the sort of thing that might help me get smarter."
