With Noboru off the stage it's time for Tsubasa to take over the mic after handing a CD to the DJ with an instrumental copy of her song.
"Good evening everyone~ In Yodotai they have an interesting style of music from way back when. This is one of those songs, it's called 'I get a kick out of you.'"
She snaps along with the beat for a moment before starting to sing her Song with a practiced voice.
My story is much too sad to be told,
But practically everything leaves me totally cold.
The exception I know is the case
When I'm out on a quiet spree,
Fighting vainly the old ennui,
And I suddenly turn and see your fabulous face.
That last line is sung out loud as she tosses a wry grin at Uetani between verses.
I get no kick from champagne.
Mere alcohol doesn't thrill me at all.
So tell me why should it be true
That I get a kick out of you?
The next verse wouldn't translate very well, causing Tsubasa to vary from the established lyrics.
Some, they may go for fancy tea.
I'm sure that if I took even one sniff
It would bore me terrifically, too.
Yet I get a kick out of you.
I get a kick every time I see
You standing there before me.
I get a kick though it's clear to see
You obviously do not adore me.
As she sings her hands get into it too, imitating the famous lounge singers of the 50s in Yodotai. It would all probably be new to the crowd but the Crab was having an excellent time just singing her heart out up there.
I get no kick in a plane.
Flying too high with some gal in the sky
Is my idea of nothing to do.
Yet I get a kick - um you give me a boot - I get a kick out of you.
And with her song complete she bowed lightly to the crowd before taking her seat back with Uetani to sip the drink she had ordered.
