"I wouldn't say I'm sensitive about it or anything," Yoshinobu laughs it off with a wave of the hand. "Just letting you know ahead of time is all, I guess. It's not like I am cursed with a bad metabolism or anything, and I work hard to stay fit."
When she makes her remark about the Crab, he looks away and begins to play with his bangs - reddening a little. "Heh. That talk is much too delicate for a dainty flower like me. Yep, just an innocent little Imperial here," he said with a smile, taking the teasing in good spirits. When the waiter returns with their water, Yoshinobu orders the sake and a salad to start with.

Hinata chuckled.
"Round one goes to me."
She looked over the menu a bit more.
"Let's see here, what to have for an appetizer...oh! They have fried mushrooms. I think I'll have some of those."
She waited for the waitress to walk off before looking back to Yoshinobu.
"Don't worry, my little flower, I'll be sure to water you."
She then paused.
"...what do you think, too sappy?"

"Smooth, Hinata-chan. If you had hit on me first, then that line would have left me speechless," Yoshinobu teased back jokingly with his trademark roguish smirk. "Can also be taken as innuendo as well if you look hard enough, by the way."
"Sappy would have been something like - 'With my warmth, I'll be sure to never let you wilt!' - or something along those lines. Though, no one really calls me a little flower. That's more a line a guy would use on a girl, most of the time. I mean, not that I'm the manliest of men or anything."

"Ah...I suppose it could be innuendo, yes."
She cleared her throat.
"...round two goes to you."
She took a moment to collect herself. Why did she enjoy teasing so much, yet when someone teased her she became flustered? That was something to figure out later, she supposed. At least it made the 'duels' fun.
"As for calling you a flower, well...you must admit you walked right into that one."

"Yeah, yeah. But maybe it was a feint? Perhaps I wanted to lure you into a trap of my own doing? The classic 'pincers and stinger' maneuver..." He posed rhetorically, once more comparing the war of words to a war of swords. At least, until he couldn't help but crack another smile. "Or not. More just a fitting metaphor, I think."
He took a sip of his water, leaning back in his chair slightly. "So how was your day, Hinata-chan?"

"Oh, it went well. Well, perhaps not well, but at least interestingly. Nothing of note really happened in my classes, but I met with my friends for lunch. Kobushi-san and Yoshi-san, it turns out, wanted to ask me and Nadeshiko-chan for relationship advice."
She let out an amused 'hm'.
"That probably speaks well for ours. After classes, I and a few others went to the temple of Goemon in the city to communicate with the kami there. We brought along Priya-chan as a yojimbo, which is funny considering our conversation yesterday. There was one interesting thing that happened in the morning, but...talking of that would spoil this. I would rather we don't talk about a worrying subject like that for now. What about you? How was your day?"

"They didn't go to the matchmaking club instead?" Yoshinobu asked with an arched eyebrow, removing his jacket as he started to feel stuffy - a few beads of sweat were gathering on his forehead. The water was helping, but it was a little warm inside the restaurant. "It's good they trust you enough to ask, though. I like both of them. They seem earnest enough, for the most part."
He takes another drink of water and wipes his brow with a napkin, just as the sake and starters arrive. Yoshinobu thanks the waitress and pours them both a small cup of the sake. Rather than mention the bad thing that happened, the Prince inquires about Goemon. "Oh? I wasn't aware there was an investigation going on."
"I never got the chance to talk to you about Katsumi-san either. She gave me her word to stop bothering you. I mean to hold her to it. Shall we toast then?"

Hinata frowned at that.
"Well...that was actually exactly the subject I wished to avoid, so perhaps we shouldn't toast on that just yet."
She pinched the bridge of her nose with a thumb and forefinger.
"I had a conversation with Shibatsu Eito-sensei this morning that gave me good reason to doubt she kept her word on that. ...but let's discuss that later, tonight's for us. Let's make a toast to that."

Yoshinobu sighed, disappointed.
"Yeah, we'll discuss it later. You're right - tonight is ours and ours alone." He raised his glass, smiling once more at Hinata. "I hope this is a night we'll remember forever. To us. Kanpai!" He toasts and takes a sip of the sake, enjoying its light flavor with a hint of sakura.

"Kanpai!"
Hinata took a sip of her sake as well and closed her eyes briefly, relishing it.
"This is good. Once again, you've got good taste."
She chuckled.
"I'll have to be careful or I'll drink too much of this."
