Confusing feelings all around. She doesn't let the thought appear on her face. She doesn't let the news she heard from Akane earlier affect her thoughts too much. She dwells on lunch, on the date.
This was supposed to be a happy moment. An occasion for warmth, joy, connections. Family. Yet there she was, pensive and concerned. Finding excuses not to be. Perhaps Akane was right. She needed to work on being happier. After years of practice in the opposite, the change was welcome and terrifying all at once.
Her smile is less potent, but still there. She takes the offered hand, but her eyes focus entirely on Fuyuko.

Fuyu gives her hand a squeeze, letting her love find comfort for whatever unusual doubts plauged her mind. "Confusion is natural. We must simply strive to find the proper path, trust in the Fortunes, Bushido and Love and I am sure we will all be fine." she says as she takes Uetani's hand as well. "The four of us will Endure. Six of us actually."

Mako had already finished an entire plate of the red meat, when she started reaching over and filling it with fish, - this small girl could put food away, when she wanted to, and for once she felt comfortable enough to do it in front of others, "They liked me, of course they'll love you." She beamed at Uetani, "I mean, nothing's too weird for them, if they let me be included in the family."

Hisui ponders this, but only briefly. "To be fair, one of them has a crush on you and you dated the other one," she points out with a chuckle. She gestures to Fuyuko. "Though they're also willing to spend more time to get to know her. As long as we don't rush them into it, they'll accept you too, Uetani-san."

"Thank the Fortunes," Hisui exclaims. She glances at Fuyuko, the one she thinks is most likely to have come up with that idea. "Mako-chan alone makes the family dynamic confusing enough."

Fuyuko gives a small nod. "Not in a bad way mind you. But yes, I think you will be accepted Uetani-chan. They seem to be able to accept me and after all you and I have such similar souls. I do not forsee any trouble."
