"I do not fear. They will be my family... Added to that, they have been raised by a good mother, and the most caring and devoted sister"

"My, we'll be quite a large group when the annual family picnic happens," she says, smiling at the idea. All six of them meeting every spring. "The twins will have to double the usual preparations."

"At least" she smiles, Uetani had eaten and could eat a ridiculous amount of food

Hisui smiles too, but thinks about death. The end of things. She ponders her own and that of Fuyuko's, aware that it will happen. She ponders what would come after it, of the preparations she has made. She ponders the changes she made to her last will and testament, passing on what she has built to her children.
"I'm going to need to change my will again to account for you, Uetani-san," she comments before a bit of the plum wine and pours out a glass for her Crane wife. "Or should I wait until I know if you're Kakita Uetani or Doji Uetani?"

"She will be neither. At the moment... I am considering Doji Haru. I am not settled on it though. It needs to be perfect." she says calmly. "Uetani-chan is asking me to rename her once she is adopted."

She takes a sip of her drink. She wonders what she would have suggested, had Fuyuko asked her. Not that the Crane bothered to ask for suggestions at all, much to the Unicorn's surprise. Perhaps something relevant to Uetani's nature and circumstances, something involving the unique connection the Kakita had to her sister's spirit. Or perhaps something symbolic of the adoption being a new beginning for Uetani, for the family.
Still, Uetani was Fuyuko's daughter first and foremost, so she puts the idea aside. Her eyes dart from Fuyuko to Uetani. "Winter, as parent, to spring, the child. Haru is a lovely name. Poetic, even," she says. "It was my name before my gempukku, in fact."

That makes Uetani blush bright red "I did not chnge my name after my gempukku. It was... a difficult time for me. It is part of why I thought to ask mother to do it now. Moving into a new life."

"Well, as long as you don't decide Doji Hisui should be your name, that should be fine," the Unicorn says in jest. She gives Fuyuko a brief, sly glance. "After all, I might have that name one day. Even if Utaku women never marry out."

Fuyuko blushes. "I uh, wanted to ask all of your opinion once I had narrowed it down some. Did you think Haru would...be a good name then? Since she is born from winter in a sense?" she asks softly before she nods. "Doji Hisui sounds like a good name though. But so would Utaku Fuyuko."

Hisui ponders it for a few moments. "I like it. The symbolism works well with the asymmetry of not adding a -ko to her name. Though I suppose I am allowing a bit of vanity to affect my opinion."
And then it's her turn to blush at the words 'Utaku Fuyuko'.
