Today, Aiko waits for the students interested in investigation by the edge of the woods, as she has prepared an exercise designed to appeal to the more martially minded students. Well, and just students who may have annoyed the Scorpion or other clans known for favoring sudden strikes from cover. Honestly, pretty much anyone.

Nadeshiko had planned to skip class to hang out with Mako but then she found out its investigations. Which meant that Nadeshiko showed up fairly quickly, perhaps hoping to catch Aiko by herself for a few moments to ask her an important question.
"Mirumoto-sensei, it's nice to see you again. I was hoping you have a moment to talk before everyone else gets here?"

Momiko bows to her aunt as she approaches, turning to Nadeshiko and offering a crisp salute before sitting down on a nearby rock.

"Of course, Horiuchi-san. How may I be of assistance?" Aiko replies, sounding a bit curious.

"I've been thinking over things and what I want to do with my life in the future and I was wondering if you would be willing to be my mentor and teach me the Kitsuki style of investigation. It would of course only be when you have free time and only when you want to."
Nade fidgeted slightly as she talked, nervous about asking such a big thing of a teacher she had only met a few days ago.
"The things you talk about and teach in your classes really resonate with what I feel are my core values."
She falls silent then, looking down respectfully until she got an answer.

Aiko looks at the young woman for several moments, crossing her arms. This was a serious thing that the young Unicorn was asking, as it was a major undertaking, to learn the secrets of another Clan's school. And while the Unicorn was clearly well-suited to the way of the Kitsuki, she couldn't just simply say yes.
"Horiuchi-san, such an undertaking would require not only permission from the Dragon, it would also mean that while you are studying the path of the Kitsuki, you would be barred from further study with your own family's school until such time as you finished the path of the Investigator. It is not something one should do lightly. I...cannot say yes at this time, but I will not say no, either. Rather, I will say, go through the groundwork, and then I will be glad to instruct you in Kitsuki's Method."

"Thank you Mirumoto-sensei, even this much is a step in the right direction for my goal. I will see what I can do about gaining permission from the Dragon, then I will talk with my mother about my training, and then I'll come back and ask what next step is."
She pulls her agenda out, scribbling down a few things before looking up once more.
"Mirumoto-sensei, is there someone in the Dragon clan you think I should talk to about this? Or should I add finding that out as part of my groundwork."

"I would be willing to speak on her behalf... i-if that would help that is," Momiko says, speaking up loud enough to be heard. Though it is only half way through that she remembers a 'normal' person wouldn't have been able to hear the two in the first place.

Aiko chooses not to comment on the Asahina's interjection, "It depends, Horiuchi-san. I would suggest trying to arrange an introduction with the Kitsuki Daimyo or the Dragon Champion, but starting smaller might be a wiser idea."

"Of course Sensei, I'll do just that. Thank you very much. I won't take up any more of you time now, we should get started on the class."
