"I don't know. I need to compare to someone to actually know what not bad is." She sipped her water. "But I guess I will just have to make a concert for this crowd."

"You could sing again," he suggested with a nod. "But do you really need to prove yourself?"

"No... but then again." She smiled seriously. "I don't know if you are worthy of a concert by the famous not so famous Miku."

"Who is Miku...? Because you might be right. I'm not an adolescent boy waiting in line for the latest fad on the stage," Kojima remarked, feeling a bit order having said it.
Seppun Kojima was an older man who felt like he came from an older time. Maybe that was because he was in his 40s teaching in a school full of teenagers. Maybe it was because he spent 20 years in the Imperial Legions. His tastes had grown with his age so some things didn't quite appeal to him.
"How about I make a recommendation for a song...?"

Yoko sighed and crossed her arms pouting. "You still think I am an adolescent. Maybe I should behave like one." Yoko looked at the Seppun. "Now you have to make it up twice. I hope this suggestion is a good one." He could see she was truely offended.

He rolled his eyes at her. She'd get over it. With a sigh he stood up and gave her a look, pat her arm, and said, "Come with me."Whether she followed or not, Kojima walked up to the karaoke jukebox and looked through the playlists. When he didn't find what he was looking for, he did a search: EYES ON ME It was an older song, at least from twenty years ago but it wasn't the type of song she was likely used to. Kojima took a seat closer to the stage, sipped his drink, and watched the diva as the song began...

She followed but he would hear the heavy steps of protest. "You still owe me." She listened to the beginning of the song and nodded. It was as if she knew the song by heart. perform song 2 raises to impress KojimaTN 25: 10d10o10k5 55

Kojima was certainly impressed. He really was. The music struck a chord in him, perhaps a memory from his youth or something else that was as sweet as the song she sung. When the final lyrics floated through the karaoke bar and the music finally faded, the Imperial looked down and rubbed his eyes with the back of his eyes as he said nothing. The man just looked down into his glass as he took a moment for himself. When she came back he composed himself, put on a soft smile, and bowed his head.
"That was really good," he said in a quiet tone.

She returned. "You doubt me." She was still mad. Even if singing is the joy of her life, she still wounded. "Really, I can't believe..." She noted that the song had moved something in him. Yoko sighed. Right... music and memories... I broke him. The former Moshi closed her eyes, tilted her head then opened them with a smile. It wasn't her true smile but non the less a smile.

Uncertain about what he had said to upset her (it was in his male mindset to overlook the things he said, or to readily insert his foot in mouth), the Imperial pondered trying to figure out what he had done to offend her. He was prone to being a jerk at times so it was no surprise. Still... She had moved him a bit, so he could at least eat a slice of humble pie. "Sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to upset you..."
