"Your ancestors realized the error of their ways though. They redeemed themselves and they died with honor. I cannot say the same for Kanpeki." Yoshinobu spat the name out like you would venom from a fresh snake bite, perhaps the only time Hinata would have seen him truly displeased. If Kanpeki had gotten his way the Prince may have never been born. After a brief moment of silence, he called the servants and requested breakfast materials. He had the tools in his kitchen, and walked over to begin taking them out.
"Let's think happier thoughts though, neh?"

Hinata frowned. That was a good point...and a sore one. She had not even thought about Kanpeki. ...also there was the fact he was wrong about her ancestor in that particular situation, but there was no need to mention that.
"Sorry...I didn't mean to upset you. Yes, let's talk about happier things."
She walked over and began helping him get out the tools to make breakfast.
"So...what plans do you have for today?" she asked, trying to find another subject to speak about.

"You have done nothing to upset me, Hinata," Yoshinobu said truthfully, smiling at her warmly. No, that wasn't on her. Hinata would have to try if she wanted to hurt him. This pain laid at the feet only of a legion of dead traitors.
"To be honest I don't know, I haven't really though about it. Maybe I could go visit the library tonight? There is a book I was thinking about reading through that might be in."

Alright, she had not upset him. Good, she had been worried for a moment. Still...it sounded like he had some pain there, and she wanted more than anything to help with that. It would have to wait, though.
"Hm? What book? I've been meaning to do some research myself, maybe I could join you."

"I'd never turn down spending more time with you Hinata." Little did Yoshinobu know at this time that he'd be meeting with the other Yoshis to talk love, women, and other things.
"As for the book? A collection of poems, letters, and journal entries from Rokugan's Emperors and Empresses past. I need to be more prepared next time Sango-san starts grilling me." And others, like Eito surely would later in the day - again, Yoshinobu was oblivious that this would happen for now. "She is quite thorough in her questioning."

Hinata chuckled.
"She's the imperial Nakodo, I'm not at all surprised. Isn't she a Kuni as well? We like to get all the information we can, it's our job after-all."
She paused, then smirked playfully.
"It can just be difficult to remember to be polite in normal society when you're used to grilling information out of literal monsters."

"I think it is because she takes her job seriously," Yoshinobu chuckled. "You'll meet her eventually, though, and learn she is as atypical as you are."
The Prince reached over and pinched Hinata's nose lightly to emphasize this, a playful but flirty gesture. "Sango-san gives off a kind of 'cartoon princess' vibe, less of a Kozan one. She likes to tell stories to children, she's a great dancer, and highly skilled in the courtly arts."

Hinata let out a little 'eep' as her nose was grabbed, then giggled.
"I look forward to meeting her, then. Maybe we can share stories of being called weird for not being weird" she said, her tone playful.

The Prince allowed himself a full on laugh at Hinata's reply.
"Indeed! I am sure you two have much you can share with each other in that regard. A couple of Kuni telling weird tales. You would probably get along quite well, you're both fairly similar."

"That's good to hear. It can't hurt to have the nakodo view me favorably, can it?"
Hinata grinned.
"So far things are looking up, aren't they?"
