Eito sighs slightly. "I would hope that my actions since then have proven it as well. But indeed, here I am." he says softly.
After this his smile returns again. "You would be surprised at the boldness of men. I am sure at least one has tried but Economy is more then that. It's also the building of Empires. Construction and logistics and how to help things grow. I like to consider myself a concrete gardener. Aside from my Candy business I have spent a considerable amount of money trying to rebuild what was destroyed in the war, and have made myself quite rich from the effort."
Then the topic of Hinata comes up and he smirks. "Chan? Iweko-sama? Then my meeting with her did not deceive me. This is a marriage of love after all. If I must be honest with you, something she was very adamant I be with her, I am still trying to figure out how I feel about her as my future Empress."

"Logistics is an important thing to understand. I think that might be a good place for any lessons to start."
He paused after Eito explained his own reluctance. "She had mentioned you met with her. I am hoping not at the whims of someone I won't name." Yoshinobu didn't want to believe that katsumi had tried to involve Eito in his love life. "What is it about her that could give you pause, Shibatsu-sensei?"
He asked for an earnest answer, indicating that no offense would be given from the answering.

Eito laughs. "Oh? I don't Hinata-sans mutual enemy is done with her but my involvement means that if there was ill intent, it was played subtly. I would hope you do the same my Prince." he says with a delighted gleam in his eye.
"As for what? Well the obvious fact is, she is a Kuni, I am a Spider. Despite your Uncle's best work and the work of those of us who honor his legacy, I don't think your Mother quite trusted us." he says with the knowing look of a man who knows he is understating by a mile.
"That fear was dispelled though. Now I just want to make sure she can handle the job. That she is best for the Empire I love. So far I like her, very much. If it wasn't you considering her I would have devoted considerable resources and effort to see her married into the Spider, but that's not always enough to know if someone will make a good leader. There are many people who I love dearly who I would die before I let them gain control over the lives of the Samurai of the Empire."

"Fair enough. If she is your student, I see no reason for you not to test her mettle. I assure you she is more than up to the task." the Prince avoided talk of his mother for now. That was a road he wished not to travel down.
"At this point, that is for myself to decide ultimately. My heart has decided on her, I will not lie, yet my brain still has three potential women to choose from. Their suitability, and our compatability, needs to be measured as well."

Eito smiles. "She is not my student. But I have requested permission to tutor her and she is considering. I have made assurances, even if I end up opposing her in this matter. I would like to hope she is, she seems to understand me very well. As for it being ultimately your choice, that is not entirely true my Prince. Such matters can always be swayed and prodded. Still the choice is mostly yours. I won't lie, I also wanted to know you, to know the sort of man who will rule over me. I know it's not my place to measure, but I have made a life out of going places I don't belong out of love for my Empire, it would be dereliction of my duty for me to not keep doing so now."

Indeed, others could have an influence over the choice. However, Yoshinobu was not one to be easily swayed without good and clear reasons.
"I assure you that I have the best intentions of the Empire in mind. Otherwise, I would have already announced that she is my fiance." A pause, and a smile. "If you'd like to know more about me though, I am ready and willing to share."

Eito nods. "Oh I know, you are both going about this quite well, though I must express my concern she needs some education in the nuances of court. Not sure if you do as well, she has a very black and white view of things. Friend or enemy. The answer is very rarely so clear even when it is. I know one of my Yasuki competitors and I keep having to work together even though we would like nothing more then to wipe the other out of business for good." he says with a soft chuckle.
"Hmm as for you. Many questions to ask. I suppose I should go with the most important one to my heart. The Spider. Would you be opposed to us one day taking our place among the Great Clans again? That is currently my life's purpose."

"After what she has gone through with her enemy, I cannot help but understand why she feels the way she does. She's young, she's buke, but she can learn. I think the Crab take on that perspective out of necessity. A moment of hesitation from one samurai could lead to the death of a whole unit on the Wall."
A Pause, as Eito asked his question. "Interesting. To be honest, I have not considered it. That begs the question though, considering it is your life's purpose. What do you foresee as the Spider's chief duty to the Empire should they reclaim their position?"

Eito nods. "Oh its understandable. It's just that the courts feed on such black and white mentality. But she is willing to learn and that's another plus on her part."
Eito taps his finger on his lips. "To be honest I am still considering it. Trying to find our soul. I know that part of it will be as Keepers of Shourido. We will be willing to do things for you the others won't. Aside from that, there are options, we could speak to the Gajin for you. We could learn to conquer again, though not my personal preference. We could even act as a home and reformation for the dishonorable of the Empire. The Spider has a way of making use of honorless curs. Though I can offer only myself as a firm example of that my Prince."

"Yes, you will need to prove that Shourido is a philosophy that can stand with Bushido, rather than be used to turn men into traitors. That is the view that most of the Empire feels, and the Usurper did little to endear the teachings to the common samurai. You leading classes on it is just a small piece of the puzzle."

Not that that was ever specifically outlined, but travelling the world meant that much at least. "Conquering breeds war, and though I am prepared for it, I prefer peace based on all I have heard. Reformation is perhaps something I can get behind, however. If you can prove to me beyond just yourself that the Spider can be a home to turn the wayward back onto the truest path, then you will have a good case for reinstatement by the time of my apotheosis."
