Eito sighs lightly. "I will have to prove it yes, though I would argue the Usurper betrayed every single principle of our virtue with his act of stupid, thoughtless ignorant pride." his own voice sounding quite bitter. "I know how much work the Shibatsu have to do but I am doing my part. I am trying to write a book, a work that encompass and explains Shourido as I view it, a way to codify and centralize it. I would also be quite happy to explain it to you my Prince, though I don't think the Fortunes are kind enough to me that you would ever embrace it, perhaps some of it might be of use to you."
He nods slightly. "It is though I worry the Scorpion view that directive quite differently then I do." he says before he nods. "I would prefer not to place my clan in war again but reformation perhaps then. A home for those without honor but who still love the Empire. I must say the Empire would benefit from those of us without honor or without the Scorpions vision of loyalty. When a man who I loved with all my heart, betrayed the Empire I loved with all my heart, I chose the later. I pray to the Kami every day that it never need happen, but perhaps we can be the people who can tell the Emperor to his face when he is being a fool. If you would have us for that purpose. I recommend having at least one person who is willing to do so, even if I am sure Kuni Hinata would call you out if she caught it."

"I appreciate your loyalty above all else, sensei. If there are two things I dispise the most if is disloyalty and dishonesty," Yoshinobu declares firmly. "The Scorpion's vision of Loyalty is something I do admire."
Yoshinobu had been betrayed before, but he wasn't willing to share the specific details. His heart still bore those scars deeply. "I have been betrayed before as well so I understand. Hinata however I trust whole heartedly. Pointing out the error of my ways would fall to my future advisors. So rather than give a clan that much power, I'd rather leave that tradition the same."

Eito shrugs. "I can be dishonest but not often, few people trust me as is so I see no need to lie if they will do it for me." he says frankly.
"I trust her as well, but I see. Well we will need to find a purpose for us then, even if we are to remain a minor clan we need a purpose. At the moment it seems like Shourido is the best option. I will need to redeem the system in the eyes of the Empire. Hopefully in that way we will find our purpose and duty to the Empire."

"It takes honesty to admit one's dishonesty." Yoshinobu could appreciate both the gesture Eito had made to do so, as well as the syntax of his own reply. It brought a small smile to his face.
"I look forward to seeing where your search leads you, and the Spider, as we move forward into the future. If you do an admirable enough job, Shibatsu-sensei, you could potentially find yourself among them."

"Indeed, it should be a good search. But as for the matter, though I have still wish to contemplate the matter of Kuni-san. I would like permission to instruct her in some of our methods and our virtues. In private of course, I don't wish to give others ammunition. She displays a grasp of them already however and the Shbiatsu are trained to deal with those who underestimate them. She will be underestimated. Already I know that is a foolish mistake."

"That is entirely Hinata's choice. We aren't married at this moment, nor even engaged - you hardly need my permission to instruct each one of your pupils without my consent."

"I suppose the question is... if she chooses to Embrace my philosophy, or takes to it, or does what Mitsu-sama does and tries to master both, would you view her as less? I want her to grow and become better. Losing the love of the man she loves goes counter to my plans."

"The only way Hinata could ever lose my affection was if she betrayed or lied to me, or hid stuff from me. Then she would not have been the woman I thought she was." Yoshinobu looked a bit uncomfortable saying that - Eito was a skilled enough courtier to pick up on as much. Perhaps something was there if he wished to exploit it.
"I suppose that is the only way I could think less of her."

Eito frowns slightly, leaning forward. "You seem, troubled my Prince. Surely you do not have reason to doubt her? And it is good to know, though I will try to keep her a good person. I am curious what your opinion on that matter is. Do you know enough about me to consider me good my Prince? I would understand if you didn't dig to far into me. I tend to be easy to overlook. By design sometimes."

The Prince mentally cursed himself for being so weak in front of a courtier.
"No. There is just something I need to talk with her about." Something he should have before hand. He should have last night, before... "I'm not sure I can label you as either or at this moment, sensei. However, I think you to be more good than evil. It takes more than a few moments of polite conversation to figure that out."
