A few moments later Bokaru strides into the clearing. He had his signature generally pleasant smile on his face like a monk that had reached enlightenment. His deep voice reminded one of the earth churning with pleasant rumbles. "Well, well, well what have you students found here?" was the only question he asked and looked in turn to all the students gathered.

Well, that was fast. Hinata always appreciated someone who could be punctual. She bowed to Bokaru, then looked back at the ruined shrine.
"Hello, Kitsune-sensei. We are still unsure. I communed with the earth kami and they said that the devastation was the work of a gaki...which I know little about beyond the basic folklore."
She frowned, thinking.
"...also that does not explain the naginata or the bottle of sake."

"Did you ask the earth Kami if the Gaki was still here?" it seemed like the most natural place to start as the kami would surely know if such an evil being were staying put.

Hinata frowned.
"...I sort of panicked and forgot to when it looked like someone was about to pull the naginata out of the ground" she said, careful not to mention names. She was not about to place blame on anyone.

"Akodo-san and I thought about removing the weapon but then we realized it might be sealing something in so we decided we should ask the Kami. We were actually just about to get around to that when we decided we might want a teacher present in case something went wrong."

Hinata just looked at Nadeshiko, her expression regretful and apologetic. She had not meant to snap at her friend like that; she just hoped the other girl would understand why.

Koshiro decides to try communing with the kami as well. He crouches down and reaches out as he tries to commune with the water kami. There had to still be water around this place, right? ((Commune Roll with one raise for clarity: 25 )) Must have been the air vapor communicating with Koshiro, perhaps some rain in the soil. The picture came to life before him, a lone question mark, waiting to be inquired. |

Koshiro nods. "Could you please show me what happened here that made this place the way it is now?" He glances over towards the bisento. "And what happened here that that bisento and sake bottle were left here?"
