As instructed by Hinata, Yoshi does what he will and without hesitation.
The weeping young woman is immediately embraced, a little awkwardly but reassuringly. Hiding his face over her shoulder, Yoshi fights back his own tears at the tragic news, trying to stay strong for her. He also immediately feels guilty, for all the times he wished he could hear the kami because that's what his parents wanted, to realize that not hearing the call of anything supernatural could be as much of a blessing as he'd always considered it a curse, given Hinata's situation.
"We'll find a wait to beat this," he declares, hoping it doesn't sound quite as empty as he felt. The situation wasn't hopeless, but it was hard to find much. As a student of History in particular, Yoshi knew of Kuni Yori, though he didn't have quite the extensive knowledge that the Crab-trained Crane possessed. Still, he'd read enough to know that this news was very bad indeed.

Hinata embraced Yoshi back, probably too tightly. She put her head on his shoulder and stayed like that for a while, crying and getting the poor boy's shirt wet in the process. As awful as the situation was, it felt good to get all the pent up fear and pain she had out. Only once it was out could she look at it with anything approaching a level head. She had been frozen by fear of the subject until now, and it had kept her from acting; doubtless that was Yori's intent in the first place.
His assurance to her that she would die if she told anyone repeated in her head, and her sobbing slowly transformed into bitter laughter.
"The bastard told me that if I told anyone they would surely kill me...I do not know why I listened..."
Hinata sighed and looked up, blinking tears out of her eyes. Her face paint had run where she had been crying.
"I...will call my parents. I will tell them everything. The Kuni have exorcists, it...it seems a good place to start."

And then Kobushi has an alarming thought. "Does he know?"
There is little doubt he means the Crown Prince.

Hinata froze, her laughter suddenly caught in her throat. She had been so caught up in the euphoria of finally getting the matter off her chest that she had not even considered what Yoshinobu might think.
"No...no he doesn't" she said, slipping into her natural accent. She had just trusted them with her darkest secret, what was a stupid accent compared to that?
"I'm...gonna have to tell him. ...hopefully he'll react more like you did."
Hinata shuddered, the possibility of losing everything she had been so close to achieving suddenly hitting her again. She took a few deep breaths. At least letting out all the pent up emotion enabled her to think more clearly.
"...he might be more likely to give me a chance if I have a plan in order. ...give me a bit, this isn't likely to go well."
She pulled out her phone and began dialing her parents.

Nade was ready when Hinata told her story and as Yoshi approached she stepped much closer, one of her slap bracelets held firmly between her fingers and in the air ready to whack Yoshi with it. Her gaze was narrowed into an expression that let the boys know know if they tried to do anything to Hinata there would be blood spilled. When his intentions turned out to be benign however she relaxed a bit, lowering her arm slightly with one eye still fixed on Kobushi just in case.
"See Hinata, I told you. They're your friends and they know that no matter who's haunting you you're still you and it's not your fault. Just like I told you. Now uhh... This may seem a bit ... out of place but could someone tell me who this Yori person is? I kinda figure he's bad news like a Yodotai serial killer but uhh... maybe some details?"

"He kind of convinced the Crab to ally with the Shadowlands and nearly destroy the Empire. As a start," Kobushi says, not willing to go into more details on the matter. "Any details would be blasphemous to mention in a temple."

Yoshi had of course released Hinata from the hug when she'd made to call her parents. However, he continues to stay close to her, watching and listening with concern, ready to deliver another if she needed it, in case the call didn't go well. Whatever effect her tears or face paint had upon his shirt clearly didn't matter to him in the least.

About half way through her conversation on the phone, Hinata began to panic, clutching her head with one hand. After a few more exchanges, the phone dropped out of her hands and she clutched her head with both hands, collapsing into a ball on the ground and sobbing.

Yoshi's first instinct is to hold Hinata, but he knows that Kobushi or Nadeshiko will be rushing to do the same, so he instead places just one hand upon her shoulder as he uses the other to retrieve her phone.

He moves fast, closing the distance and crouching in front of her. He thinks better of shaking her out of what's happened. Instead, he takes her hands and tries to get her on her feet. He doesn't know why his friend was cursed like this or what he could do against a menace from beyond the grave. But he was willing to fight one ancient evil for Ryuha, why not another for Hinata?
"You are better than this. Better than him!" he says, trying to get through to her as he tried to get her on her feet. "He needs you. If you don't let him, he can't do anything. He can't control you. Just make you hear his voice. And you can choose not to listen."
Is any of that true? He doesn't know, but he can figure that out later.
