It had been a long day for Hoshiko. Long, painful, embarrassing, but she was staying. For now at least. Only one way to recover...and soon the halls are literally shaking as Hoshiko rocks out in one of the music rooms. Amp turned up far too loud, but she didn't care. She played, and she rocked out in her own personal concert.

After her long, enjoyable afternoon diversion, Hisui decided to go for a quick walk. It was a wonderful feeling, being happy, and it helped ease her concerns about the discoveries revealed earlier in the day. While her rendition of it isn't perfect, she is singing a song made famous by an old friend as she walks the halls. Or was, until the amps turned too loud made it impossible for her to hear her own voice. She tracks the sound down, eventually arriving to see Doji Hoshiko letting it all out in that way energetic young musicians do. A little too loudly for the rest of the world. The sensei stands by the door, deciding to just listen for the time being. Let the girl have her catharsis.

Hoshiko finished the song with a flourish, clearly showing off to herself, and even more obviously she hadn't noticed her audience until she turned round and nearly jumped at the person in the doorway! She took her earphones out, looking at the woman, bowing to her.
"Sensei?"

"Doji-san."
She bows, perhaps a bit more respectfully than is strictly required. Then again, Hisui was under the impression the soloist of the choir held some animosity towards her for an incident that she preferred not to think of. She decides to approach conversation with a bit of care.
"Not my usual genre of music, but I can appreciate the effort and the passion put into it," she says, deciding that was a good start. "You remind me of an old friend, in fact."

"Well, I'm a rockstar. Would make sense to rock out, ne?" Hoshiko grinned, before tilting her head "who do I remind you of?" She went through a few names in her mind, famous rock musicians from an age ago...

"A rock star rocking out does make perfect sense. As for who you remind me of..." She smiles at the memory. Then she pauses. She isn't sure if the musical style her old friend made famous was still known to kids these days. "I don't know if you've heard of Doji Kyoko? I...think she had a stage name that she was more famous for. Yukiko, I believe."
"The same passion. The same talent. Different genres."

Hoshiko's eyes widened.
"You knew Yukiko?! Wow! what was she like? I've never met her, but my sensei was her sensei, and he spoke so much about her talents."

"Honestly? I knew her by her real name," she answers, surprised at the reaction. This was going better than she thought it would, though she still intended to make another apology once things were calmer. She takes a moment to think, to remember. As she does this, she gestures for the young Doji to sit, relax a little.
"When I first met her, she was melancholic. She had a leg injury that she kept risking making worse time and time again. Stubborn, you could say. I must have threatened to carry her to keep her off her leg three times in the course of the first week of school. But she was also kind. And so very sweet. I don't think she has an unkind bone in her body. But like all Doji, there was steel beneath the silk."

Hoshiko sat down next to Hisui, listening with interest. "I...heard about the injury. The story went that her now husband literally went to the heavens to get a cure for her. I didn't know that she kept trying to dance through the injuries though. Was it really that bad?

"I was there when they first met. In fact, we both ended up sending her letters of apology the next day," she says, again recalling the story. She almost laughs at herself. "And yes, she did. She let it heal just enough to to think she could dance on it, but kept re-injuring it. That was how it was explained to me. I think by the time she came here, it was all but impossible to heal without divine intervention."
"Fortunately, when you have a man with the abilities and mindset of Kuni Toroda-san taking a personal interest in you and your recovery, all sorts of things are possible."
