his smile becomes a look of empathy "I understand how you feel though I will say while I have thought of her often I do not worry for her. I trust her to take care of herself. I am not the kind to need to be around his partner all the time, not saying there is anything wrong with it, it just isn't how I operate."

As he speaks, she comes to conclude that the Akodo doesn't know exactly why the group went to Tsuma. She wonders if it is her place to inform him, or if it is Uetani's, or if it all has to be kept a secret. She decides to keep silent, be discrete. "It's not the time away that worries me. It's what can happen during that time."

"true I suppose anything can happen though I try not to dwell on the negative." he says with a shrug "and don't worry I am sure you are fun for more than a few hours." was he hitting on her? it was hard to tell, his tone wasn't lewd he in fact looked perfectly pleasant but there might have been something *off* about his phrasing, or maybe it was nothing at all....

She chooses not to tell him about the exact nature of the risks the three were potentially facing. And, based on what she knew, how little their abilities or skill would help against the Shadow Dragon and it's agents. Then his tone shifts, into something she can't quite place. It could have been flirting, but it could have been something else. She decides it was nothing, merely a trick of her lack of sleep.
"Hours? Perhaps, but I've also been called dreadfully dull. It varies, I suppose, on what people think counts as fun."

"now who could call any conversation with you dull? You're quick as a whip, funny, and if I may say not hard on the eyes either." it was casual but it was certainly flirtatious the kind that doesn't mean anything and is often confused with mere flattery.

Boys have been trying that trick on me ever since she passed gempukku," she says, though she doesn't dismiss the rest of what was said. "If you're trying to win me over, I warn you I have significantly less influence over Uetani-san than her addressing me as 'mother' might suggest."

His grin widens "But I suspect you have a sight more influence over her new adoptive mother. Having one of the parents in your corner never hurts. Plus flattery is so much easier when it is genuine."

"And while I might have a bit more sway over her future mother and her opinions, it was quite a gamble on your part to assume I would be willing to use it. A bit reckless of you, but I can appreciate a reckless plan."
That Hisui believes Fuyuko would be inclined to listen to her, she does not say. After all, as the more experienced parent between them, it was likely she would be teaching the Crane about these things. Fuyuko may even simply defer to the Utaku on these matters. All the more reason for her to be careful, she thinks.

Don't get me wrong I do genuinely enjoy this time we are spending together I think you're the coolest sensei I've talked to so far." This is actually delivered earnestly it doesn't hold the tone of flirtation or flattery. "But if you are wondering if why I care if you like me there it is."

"Then you clearly haven't spoken to Ryudo Akane-sensei much," she says, dipping into a little self-deprecating humor. "But I will let Doji-sensei form her own impression of you. If she consults me on the matter, I will of course offer my opinion based on our limited encounters with each other."
She smiles at the honesty. "And so far, it has not been negative."
