He makes one last check of the clay. It was just short of ready.
"Almost ready to fire up here," he says, gesturing to the tandoor. "Just let the clay harden a little so it doesn't fall apart when it's carried to the kiln."

"Thanks. I try to do good work." A pause. "If I wasn't trained to fight, I'd probably enjoy working on ceramics more often."

She tries to think about what she would enjoy doing if not for fighting. Athletics is more or less in the same field. Cooking, probably, and the idea makes her happy. Happier than it would have done in the past. Before she would have seen a housewife, bitterly doomed to be trapped with someone she had not chosen. Now she thinks about how she is able to provide for the people she loves.
Huh, well...
She smiles and nods to Kobushi. Hopefully he will be able to practice his craft.

One more poke. The clay seemed ready, so he lifts it up. He's careful not to dent or damage the shape, which would be all too easy at this point. He can tell the height of it would make getting it into the kiln awkward.
"Hey, mind grabbing the bottom so we can get it into the kiln on its side?" he asks, noting the smile. "It's light, but big enough to be awkward if I do it myself."

She hops to helping him with a grin, and moves to lift. It doesn't really matter how heavy it is. She is yet to find something she can't lift!

With two pairs of hands, Kobushi figures there's less risk of him tripping over his feet and crashing the whole thing. And it's easier to guide it into the kiln, ready for heating up. Once it's secure, he closes the lid and gets it warmed up.
"Should take another couple of hours, plus a few minutes to cool. After that, it's all yours."

"No problem." He smiles back. "Seems she's mostly into simpler stuff. Kind of a traditionalist, far as I can tell. I'll see if I can find out more later today."
