Kogeki takes the card and swipes it as he begins again to slice and dice, making a show of his cooking, something he learned in the Kakita Academy. "Love spice honestly. I was worried people wouldn't like it here. Dad told me that most of the main sensitive palates."

Kumataro chuckled as he took the card back.
"Your dad would be right, actually. Most people can't handle spicy stuff. I just got a taste for it while I was in Unicorn lands."

"We eat it all the time in Spider lands. Strength of Stomach as they say. If you don't have to struggle and fight with your food then you will get complacent." he says with a chuckle as he keeps working, putting the pork on the grill and seasoning it, making sure to fan the scent towards the crab.

"That's a sentiment I can appreciate. Nothing let's a skill waste away more than not using it, even if it's something as simple as eating spicy food."
Kumataro inhaled and smiled.
"Kami, that smells good. How long have you been cooking for?"

"Since I was a kid. Dad owns a restaurant back home so I been helping him slice since I was old enough to hold a knife. Even got into the Kakita Artisan academy but uh...I was thrown out." he says sheepishly.

"Bah!" Kumataro responded, waving a hand.
"Crane, in my experience, don't know how to cook actual food. They focus so much on making it look pretty they forget how to make it taste good. Don't worry about that too much."

Kogeki shakes his head. "I learned alot there actually. Used what I could and got better. I got thrown out for getting in a fight. Bunch of em kept picking on me cause I don't know how to deal with...more refined folk as easily and well. Apparently breaking the nose of some big shot's son means you get thrown out no matter how well you cook."

Kumataro raised a brow. That sounded like something he would've done as a teenager.
"Huh. Well yeah, you can't just go around punching people."
He couldn't help it. He cracked a small grin.
"...how bad did you break it, then?"

Akane noticed the large man come in, briefly, though her attention was more on the food than anything. After all, barbecue was best while it was fresh and hot. Munching on a piece of chicken off one of the skewers, she briefly needed to open her mouth to make sure she didn't burn her tongue a little before closing it again and chewing happily.

The spider chuckles. "Smashed like a fine potato. It was great. Shouldn't have insulted my dad." he says with a chuckle before he looks down sheepishly. "But I know. I can't let my temper get the best of me. I gotta stay here so I can learn to be a great cook. Perfect my art you know?"
