That got a soft smile from Akane, the woman setting down her chopsticks entirely, "She's okay I suppose. A bit sleepy lately. I miss her energy, but it's not like I can say I know what it's like being her, you know? I think she remembers you though."
She gave a small nod.

Quickly walks over to the crab, setting down his food at his table. "There you go crab-sensei" before he goes back to work, letting them talk for the moment.

Kumataro nodded to Kogeki as he set down the food.
"Thank you."
He then turned his attention back to Akane.
"Huh, well it's good to hear she's doing well. What about you, how are you doing?" he responded, his eyes wandering to her chopsticks and then back to her. She had barely touched her food, and he wondered if something might be wrong, but it'd be rude to ask directly.

The skewers had disappeared while Kumataro was in line. But otherwise that wasn't far off. "Me? Good, though it's good to be back. Living in Otosan Uchi is better than it used to be, but there are still a lot of sections that are ruined or haunted or cut off from the public. And I only had a few friends..."
She chuckled softly, "Frankly, I'm still kind of an outsider in the Clan, thanks to my situation."

"Take it from me, as someone who was also an outsider in his own clan: it means what few friends you do make will stick around."

"Mmmm mmm... Well, I'm not too worried about it; I mean, I still have the friends I have, Kunshu-chan is always with me, and I still get letters and emails and calls from some of the people I really care for. And now that I don't have the higher ups looking over my shoulder all the time, I think I may get the chance to let my hair down a little, hm?"
She picked her chopsticks back up and turned to look at the food, frowning, "I hope this is still piping hot."

Kumataro frowned a bit, and took another bite.
"All my friends from high school have gone their own ways, unfortunately. It's pretty strange, I wasn't expecting to see so many familiar faces here."
He then looked at Ryudo's food.
"Well, it didn't come off the grill too long ago, yeah? It shouldn't be cold yet."

She picked up a bite and chewed it thoughtfully before turning back to Kumataro, "So, you said you were bringing drinks for the party?"

Kumataro leaned back and began fiddling with one of his chop sticks.
"I figure the start of a new school year counts, yeah?"
