Hinata watched the bush intently, waiting for whatever was hiding there to show itself. What was it? Surely it was not some kind of monster. The bushes rustled again, and Hinata prepared to strike just in case.
Then, out of the bushes burst a...cat! Hinata jumped at first, but almost immediately relaxed and let out a nervous chuckle.
"Okay, I guess it was nothing."
She knelt down and held out a hand to the cat.
"Hello there, kitty. What are you doing all the way out here?"
The cat sniffed her hand, then bit her. Hinata pulled her hand away and shook it.
"Ow!"

Kobushi was pensive for a moment, worried about what might be there. When the cat emerges, he visibly relaxes. He watches the whole process of Hinata trying to pet it before getting bit. He decides to bend down himself, a gloved finger extended to see how the cat would react to him.
"Hey there, kitty. Out here all alone?"

"Huh... Didn't think animals would be caught in this dream state too..." A pause. "Wait, does that mean cats can dream too? Or is this just a dream cat dreamt up by Goemon?"

"Cats can dream, yes. I've seen my cat meowing in my sleep."
Hinata glared at the cat.
"But my cat isn't as much of a jerk as this one."
The cat glared right back at Hinata, then bumped against Kobushi's hand. Hinata's glare turned to one of offense.
"Oh, you like him but not me?"

Kobushi decides to give the little animal a light petting of the head. "Hey there, little kitten. Hope you like the dream you're in."
He chuckles at Hinata's indignation.
"Maybe it's a girl?" he theorizes.

"So you're the "ladies' man" now, huh, Kobushi?" Yoshi teases, effectively answering Hinata's question with his interpretation of the Crane's theory. He reaches down to skritch the kitty himself. "Girls like me too, you know... and Hinata." He grins knowingly at his best Crab friend. Still a little worried about the general lack of visibility, he also looks and listens to make sure the cat wasn't distracting them from anything actually dangerous approaching.

Koshiro tilts his head. "Wait Yoshi-san, are you saying Hinata-san isn't a girl? Or... are you saying girls like Hinata-san as well?"
