"People will, dissipate. Trust me I was trying to find a quiet place to read earlier. And ah a spear user. Very good. She is your worst enemy Akodo-san." she says with a gentle smile. "The spear is all about air strikes. She would make a good sparing partner. If you can land a sword strike on a spear user, you are ready for Iaido."

Suzume Suzaku entered, quietly stepping off to the side in a brown burlap kimono and hakama, iaito on his right side. After a moment of thought he settled into a neutral stance, eyes forward before settling into an iaijutsu stance, deadly still and patient. A slight twitch of his hand after a long wait, and he shook his head, returning to a neutral position and returning again to his stance, again still and patient. His long black hair hung loose on his shoulders and his blue eyes held a loose awareness of what was in front of him.
Finally Suzaku, snapped out a horizontal cut, ichimonji, his left hand quick as it sent the sword stopping in the air. He performed chiburi then resheathed the sword, shaking his head. He had been too impatient to cut. Patience, All Things In Time, that was the way of the Sparrow. His practice earleir that day had helped but he had much to learn.

Seijuro looks to Suzaku, noting the Sparrow's technique.
"I bet he would do well against a spear. It's not the hitting I worry about when facing a spear user, its the getting hit," the Akodo remarked. "The country is nice, neh? My grandfather's dojo was such a place, quiet and distant."

Fuyu turns to watch the Sparrow, a slight smile on her face as she does so. "Indeed, note Akodo-san the blessing of the sparrow. Patience. It takes courage to stand still waiting for the perfect moment, knowing that a single mistake and you might as well have stood defenseless." she says with a bit of awe at the other student's technique.

Akiko seemed to blush at the suggestion of being a sparring partner for Seijuro. It always flustered the girl when she was mentioned in a positive way with another person. "Ano..."
Her words are ended before they could start once the sparrow entered and begun training. It caused the Lion to sulk even further backwards. In fact, it almost seemed like she was edging along the hide behind Seijuro. Better the devil you knew than the devil you didn't.
"Y-yes...the country is very nice. It's quiet and you can go m-miles without meeting another person." She continued to try and sneak herself behind her clan mate, as if that would spare her the burden of further interaction with others.

Patience? "I'll take note, sensei. Hopefully he's going out for the Iai team." Seijuro's eyes follow Akiko as she retreats behind him, so he remains standing in front of her since that was obviously what she wished.
"It is nice, but the city isn't so bad either Matsu-san. It just takes some time to get used to is all."

Suzaku decided to practice his stance more a few times, focusing on breath and stillness, and finding the right moment to strike. If an opponent struck two blows the best time would be as he readied his first, between his first and second, or after he missed his second. Rushing at any other time meant death.

Iaijutsu Strike: 15
Suzaku lashed out but realized his timing was somewhat off. He may have bested an amateur or unskilled duelist, but he had to train harder to understand the Suzume teachings. Feeling that he was being anti-social, he decided to conclude his early practice with a Kenjutsu kata with his sword now unsheathed. The display was clearly punctuated by moments of waiting, broken by strikes in the vulnerable timing of his opponents. A raised front foot where the opponent couldn't change direction, an unexpected deflection with a skilled riposte, each finding a hidden timing. By the time he was done Suzaku performed chiburi and resheathed his katana, realizing as he slowly wound down from his meditative state of zanshin that his performance had been one of his best yet, though fleeting and unlikely to be recaptured until he grew in mastery.

Fuyu offers a small clap. "Excuse me both, just one moment." Before she walks over to Suzaku. "Splendid form. Perfect time, the strike was lacking but that can be fixed." the tiny woman says. "I hope you are trying out for the team Suzume-san"

Suzaku bowed deeply as he left his state of zanshin and turned to the one addressing him. "Thank you Doji-sama." He absent-mindedly brushed back his long black hair smiling with the blue eyes of the Crane ancestors of the Sparrow. "While I am not the greatest credit to the method of Kakita-sama's The Sword, I had hoped to possibly try out for the team or at the very least practice with the club." Suzaku self consciously covered his hands as he spoke with the Doji before bowing again with a genuine smile "This one is Suzume Suzaku, of the Suzume Hills." his voice had a pleasant tenor, though accented with the drawl of a rural goshi.

"Akodo Seijuro," the Lion bowed respectfully. "You honor your ancestors with your dedication to your art, Suzume-san."
