There may be no other dojo in the Empire with such history as the one at Rokugan High School. After all, how many different samurai from different backgrounds and schools and families had trained here? Countless, innumerable, many who had gone on to be honored shiryo or were reborn into the cycle anew. Such a hallowed place was worthy of even greater respect than one would normally give to a dojo. If one focused hard enough, he or she could likely see the spirits of samurai past echoing kata, or trace the various steps of great warriors come and gone. How many heroes had taken up a blade in this spot, or set their daisho down upon these racks? Held this bokken?
Akodo Seijuro set the wooden sword back down where he had just retrieved it. On his hips, his daisho rested between his hakama and his belt - as if made for him, meant to be no where else. Every single of aspect of the dojo set his golden eyes to shining when he pondered its history, a sense of awe overcoming the Akodo every time. After the bit of revelry, Seijuro made his way to one the daisho stands he thought of earlier. Almost as if in prayer, he knelt in a fluid motion and drew the two blades - saya and all - from his belt.
Watch over me, Father. Guide my right hand, and instruct my left. He prayed to his swords solemnly before setting them gently on the stand. Seijuro stood after touching his forehead to the ground, then made his way back to the bokken. He picked up the same one - it had a good weight, after all. Before starting his warmups, he paid each banner to each of the clans a bow of respect. Obeisances observed, he arced the wooden sword in a circular motion before grasping it with both hands, and beginning with 100 overhead slashes.

There is the sound of a wooden stick tapping along the sound of the flood as the Lion begins his exercise, gentle and soft like the sound of a cane. Doji Fuyuko enters the room leaning slightly on her parasol as she walks, wearing an elaborate white dress with a veil and pale blue lipstick on her face. Looking almost like a ghost the tiny goth stops when she see's the student practicing, showing proper respect and despite his rough nature, showing the proper dedication and sincerity to the art. For now she simply observes from the doorway, not quite interrupting him.

The Lion's slashes were not the style of his namesake. These were not the practiced, methodical slashes the Akodo school was known for. They were heavy, each ki-ai coming from the Lion's mouth a shout of strength. Low and from the gut, fierce like the proud, golden Lion emblazoned upon the field of brown.
After his cuts, he looked to the sensei at the doorway and bowed. "Konban-wa, Doji-sensei. I hope the evening finds you well," Seijuo greeted.

Fuyuko bows back to him. "Konban-wa, Lion-san. I apologize if I interrupted. I was watching you practice. This one must say she admires your dedication." she offers in her delicate soft voice, like a whisper. "Do not stop on my behalf. Will you be learning Kendo with your blade or Iado or both?"

Seijruo offers her a smile, though he only realizes just now that the sensei is blindfolded. She must be blind, though she commented that she was 'watching', he muses to himself.
"Your words honor me, sensei," he replies, relaxing his grip on the bokken. He takes a moment to catch his breath. "I still have a long way to go, in both kenjutsu and the art of the quick draw. My grandfather taught me the style of the Sennen-no-Hagane, thus I am a student of both arts."

Fuyu nods at his comments of the school. As she does her hair moves and he can see only her left eye is covered. The right a light blue color that seems particularly bright in the somber lighting.
"I find that it is important to know both. And find me someone who says they do not yet have miles to improve and I will find you a fool." or Kakita Meta but she could hardly hold that against her former classmate, being a thunder and all. "I will work with you on your form. Your strength is impressive, when your strike lands it will be devastating." Making it clear both his strength and his weakness in a single compliment. With any luck by the end of the year she could add accuracy to that power of his and he would be formidable.

"While you rest your enemy practices," Seijuro quoted Akodo-kami's words reverently. "I am ever ready to learn sensei, even on a day off of class."
The Akodo gave Fuyuko another bow, before whatever lesson she had to offer.

Fuyuko smiles and nods. "Show me your stance Akodo-san." she says as she watches carefully, walking over to the stand and placing her parasol on the ground and her sword in it's place, taking her boken and bowing to the various banners as well. It was odd but it seemed she was going to practice in her fine dress.

Seijuro replies to the traditional request not with words, but with actions. He slides the wooden sword into his hakama's belt and takes a traditional Lion dueling stance. However, beyond the stance itself was the technique of 1000 Years of Steel. The Akodo did not just quote the wisdom of Akodo flippantly. It was clear that the lessons of Leadership were present even now, as he assumed his stance, informing Seijuro's posture.
Finding something to guide the sword, and find the true path. Such was the quintessence of that style invented by the Crane and Dragon so long ago...

Fuyuko walks over, looking him over as she does so and nodding. "A fascinating technique. Show me a strike." she says gesturing to empty space. She didn't want to accidentally take a blow from the powerful fighter since she suspected that would knock her clean off her feet. At least not yet.
