Kakita Isao waited outside of a cafe in the Restaurant District for Kakita Tsuki . The young Crane first year looked at the text he had sent Tsuki earlier where he had asked if she was interested in meeting for lunch. He was happy to get a response back so he picked out the cafe and texted her the address. Isao waited in a casual outfit; he wore an unbuttoned collared shirt, loose around the neck and tucked into his slacks. His belt and shoes were polished leather, black and matching. He wore his glasses instead of his contacts with a copse of white hair atop of his head, boyish looking and wearing an easy smile. He gently tapped his foot as he waited. He hadn't seen her since last summer as he was excited to see her again!

Tsuki checked her watch as she stepped around the corner. Dang, a tad bit late. She had been so caught up at the arcade she nearly over shot her time. Thankfully it was only a couple minutes so nothing to largely fret over, but she had given a time and it seemed only proper to actually show up as dictated.
She wore some simple today, a mixture of Rokugan styling mixed with gaijin simplicity. A light dress with her hair tucked up into a simple, at least by Crane standards, bun. As she glanced over to the cafe, the young woman saw Isao waiting at the entrance for her. Tsuki quickly flashed him a smile and offered a wave as she approached. "Isao-san! It's so good to see you again! I can't believe you're going to be attending RHS with us."

"Tsuki-san! Hey, how're you? It's so good to see you!"
Isao beamed, grinning ear to ear a moment as he waved back at Kakita Tsuki. "I'm kind of surprised myself! I mean, I didn't really know I'd be attending school here, but it's really cool! You and a couple of my friend's are going to RHS too. So, it's really awesome I know some people going here, opposing to going to school somewhere else." He gestured her inside in a polite manner, acting the part of the gentlemen instead of being the energetic boy from junior high. Though he was still very much that same boy. He showed her inside to a table for two in the cafe where he waited for her to sit before joining her. He continued to regard her warmly, his bright blue eyes behind his glasses looking her face over.
"Tea? Coffee? Something else entirely...? Wow, how long has it been? I'm glad we have been able to cross paths. So, tell me about what's new, eh?"

Tsuki covered her mouth as she let out a small laugh at the young man's usual energetic nature. She was of course happy to see his courteous nature and allowed herself to be escorted to a table where they could continue their greeting discussion. "Well if you're the same Isao-san I met a summer ago, you'll fit in without a problem."
The Cafe was simple in interior, keeping to the basics of design and approach and enhancing that area. Make sure light was able to properly spill in, comfortable seating, and always quick to take orders among others bits. Tsuki plucked up between her digits the smallish menu and gave it a cursory glance before looking up to Isao. "Mmm, I'm thinking something of a sweet tea. As for new? Well I would have to say I had the opportunity to visit the wall with my father. I knew it was big, but I suppose it's never as large as one suspects until you can lay your own eyes on it."

"So, how about a little honey to go with something traditional, like matcha green tea? I'm thinking green tea, which isn't normally sweet, but I couldn't think of something more fitting to share with a friend," he offered with a warm smile. Kakita Isao was a Crane and he knew tea. He also wasn't in the mood for anything overly sweet - it just didn't appeal to his sense of balance. He felt it was a fun compromise. "You'll enjoy it, even if it's a little unorthodox, believe me," he chirped. Ever the socialite, Isao sighed and thought about the Wall. He imagined what Kakita Tsuki had seen there. A server came to take their orders and if Tsuki was agreeable to his suggestion, it would be a simple matter. Otherwise, they could enjoy two different cups with their lunch. "So, the Wall, huh? I can't say I've been there yet. How big WAS it? The only Crab I've met are sailors and merchants who come to the port in Samui Kaze Toshi," which was his hometown she might have recalled. "We get quite a few who sail up and down the coast, actually. It's a busy port after all! Beautiful beaches too, depending on the time of year. As for me, I graduated with honors at the top of my class last year. So, dad was wavering on where to send me this year. So, what're you going to be studying?"

Tsuki smiled sweetly at Isao, nodding to his suggestion of matcha green tea and honey. A wonderful compromise as far as she could figure over the prospect of tea at a cafe. "Well I will certainly hope I like, otherwise my sense of taste will have drastically changed in the week since I last sipped such a mix."
She nodded as he postulated questions and then dug right into what he been doing, all the while noting his eagerness to speak on what they had missed over the time away. Communications and texts were certainly used, but with being so busy over the year with her own studies she couldn't always keep up with everything. Then again, in this modern age of fast paced information, who could?
"Well," Tsuki started, "First, it is every bit as big as one might suspect it to be. Perhaps if I were a better painter with my words, I would give you a picture, but honestly it was just colossal. It just went on for miles, Isao-san." She gestured with her hands to help give impact to her words.
"As for studying, well I plan to continue my normal courses, but I think I'll try to keep my focus on certain courses this year, as opposed to seeing what might be interesting. There's just not enough time in the day to do it all, you know? Though i'm sure you know all about that, mister top of his class," Tsuki laughed again, "With honors might I add. I hope you have been keeping up with your personal interests as well."

"Tch. It's not all martial arts, you know. Or the rest of the Academy curriculum. I have been studying some things on my personal time," he stated, matter-of-fact. "I picked up poetry, actually. I mean, I'm not really good... But I'm Crane good, so that accounts for something right?" There was a bit of a nervous laugh. Their tea would be brought, a small black kettle with two cups so they could serve themselves. Isao played the part of the Crane host, pouring for her and waited for her to do the same. Once their cups were filled he smiled and lifted his cup, inhaling the fresh aroma. After he took a small sip he smiled, finding the hot beverage much to his liking. The touch of honey was a wonderful addition.
"But I do have some expectations to live up to. I was reading over the various clubs, and a few stuck out besides Kendo and Iaido. I was thinking about the Debate Team, Kyudo Club, and Students of Peace actually."

Tsuki nodded at Isao as his feathers bristled up ever so slightly. She thought it was rather cute for him, but wouldn't dare say that out loud. "Well Crane good is the standard of the empire, so yes I do think it accounts for something."
She took up her part and after having Isao pour for her did the same in kind. The drink was everything she could want it to be, from the scent that wafted up to her button cute nose, to the taste that spilled across her tongue as she sampled the liquid contained within. It was a proper mixture to commiserate their compromise. Not to bitter and not to sweet. A wonderful balance.
"Those sound like perfect matches for you, but with your interest in poetry, perhaps that might interest you as well?" She asked as she took another sip, "Though it's only an idea."

"If I recall correctly, I can only be involved in so many clubs. So, I kind of have to pick and choose - I mean, I can always check 'em out and see what I like most, right? Say the Debate Team isn't fun. I'm certain I could then go over to the Poetry Club, right? I've been practicing haiku and tanka, but one day I'd REALLY like to study the renga form. Do you know how much goes into throwing a renga party?"
As Isao rambled on he sipped his tea and smiled, taking a moment to breathe and catch his breath. "A lot," he said matter-of-fact again. "There is a lot of traditional etiquette and form involved, actually. It's really cool! I guess I should try to find some fellow poets at some point or another. After all, all the girls like poetry." He laughed softly, maintaining that warm and infectious smile.

Tsuki listened quietly as Isao spoke, her cup of tea rising up to greet her lips. Every sip was as mildly sweet as the last, and a part of her wished to simply drink the whole glass away. The only thing that kept her making the leap was how that would look to the man sitting across from her whom was currently speaking about a passion he had. So the cup fell in hand back to the table and she smiled again.
"That they do," She agreed, albeit quickly, lest Isao think she wasn't paying attention. "I can't think of a lady who doesn't like being compared to the warmth of a summer breeze."
