Reiha did not like people, so Tarik booked the third floor, view from there was supposed to be sublime. They got there a little after lunch hours on his limo. Aziz was the first to get out from the car and once he had checked the location he opened the door for him. Once out he opened the door for Reiha.
The restaurant was supposed to be among the best in town. He had chosen this one since it served local but international dishes too. He smiled at her and then escorted her in.

Reiha can't help but smile at Tarik as she sees the place. It's full of books and there are manga at every table! And she had been more than a little afraid he would take her somewhere ridiculously fancy in her usual baggy pants and hoodie!
"Some kitsune udon soup, please!" She could eat that every day, all day! That part of the legends at least applies to her. She looks at Tarik and fumbles for a subject. "So, you like the school, Tarik-san? And where did learn of this place? It's... well... wonderful!"

At least I did something well this time. he thought as he watched her.
"Same for me." He ordered. "Plus a bottle of Maneki-neko, if you may."
"School was dreadful. Administration has not allowed me to represent myself in the student council and for some reason they do not allow men in the girl's dorm. I had to find female servants to carry your boxed. The worst part was that I found out about that only once I was already there..." He shrugged.
"Since morning I was goofing around in the campus and I run on a cool teacher, who used to be student in RHS when he was younger. He was the one who suggested it. I am glad that you like it."

Reiha looks around while smiling broadly.
"I do like it, yes. I mean, who wouldn't?" She smiles self-consciously. "Of course, if you don't like manga perhaps you wouldn't, but you know what I mean." A little frown. "They allow men in girl dormitories in Medinaat Al-Salaam?"

"Yes, they do." He replied.
"It's not the same though, we don't do dormitories in the way you do that here. The whole idea of the University is that it's a place of learning. There are laws that protect freedom of thought and expression inside the campus. The thing with the student body would have caused a riot. Then there is not so much oversight from the administration or the teachers. Ultimately it is a good think that I rented the suite. I wouldn't be able to live on campus."

"Oh, we don't really have laws like that in Rokugan. The Celestial Order, you know. Who is in charge in Medinaat Al-Salaam? Is he or she not a representative of your Kami?"
Reiha shrugs a little.
"And why would you want to be on that student council anyway?"

"Our wise Caliph, he Who Is Arbiter Of All Disputes, the Guiding Light of His Excellency is not some extension of an alien, supernatural entity. He is a relative of mine. His house, House Rasouli, was a junior house of the House I come from till the 13th century. In theory I could succeed him, but that would require lots of work and luck." He tried to explain.
"Because I want to be part of the decision making on matters that affect my daily life. For instance the campus clearly could use a helipad."

Reiha frowns a little. This kind of talk makes her uncomfortable and she shifts a little in her seat.
"Tarik-san, you shouldn't say things like that. Amaterasu-no-Kami is the mother of the kami of our Great Clans. We all share a blood tie with the Heavens and many of the Fortunes were once mortals. The Son of Heaven is not an extension of an alien, supernatural entity, but... well... literally, the Son of Heaven."
She felt really brave for offering her opinion!
"And I'm sure that if enough students and sensei have helicopters they will build a helipad.", she adds in a little voice.

He resides in another realm... he is as alien as it gets... don't go there. She seems to have a strong opinion on the subject. At least she speaks out.
"I believe that you can understand that I do not embrace the Rokugani religion." He commented.
"You feel that I exaggerate?"

"Well..." There is a slight embarrassed shrug. "It's not so much a religion as fact, Tarik-san. After all, you are marrying one of those supernatural, alien entities, you know..." She sounds none to happy about being one actually.
"And honestly, how many people among the students and teachers actually own helicopters?"
