Suzaku nodded and smiled at Isao's answer. It was good and succinct and the Sparrow was sometimes too long winded for his own good. A mark of his people: long-windedness and long, sometimes perfect memories to recall perfect details of stories so that no detail or information would be lost. At the sound of musical chairs his eyes light up with even more glee.

Isao blinked.
"Wait... What? What does musical chairs have to do with the art of the draw, Sensei?"
He went ahead and took the bait.

"Focus," Kobushi answers. "And the ability to see an opening and seize it in half the time it takes to breathe."
Iai, he thought, had more common with what he knew than he initially believed."

Post by Mirumoto Noboru on Jan 15, 2018 13:00:45 GMT -5
The Dragon looks up from his guitar, a grin on his face as he starts to make his way over to the rest of the class, instrument still in his hands. A different arpeggio starts to hum from the instrument as he looks to the Crane woman, seeming to ask for permission to continue while the others act confused. "It's about focus and knowing the right moment to strike. Act too late, and you're without a chair," Noboru starts in with a little bit of a calmer demeanor. "Your answers were also a bit 'rote' earlier. Focus is those things, and yet it's more than that." Sounding more like a Togashi than a Mirumoto, the Dragon continues, "It's about finding yourself, your center, and pushing aside all other distractions. The Void isn't just about knowing the right moment. It's about letting the very elements tell you when that moment is."

"Welcome to the Class Dragon-san. And indeed. It is about finding the current more then swimming the stream. Find it and you don't need to think. In fact you shouldn't be thinking at all. But yes. Far too many duelist think only with their swords and their hands. Iaido is about the mind and the body. If you cannot find the perfect moment while walking around a chair in a child's game, how will you do so when faced with a Mirumoto Master where your life will be decided in less time then it takes a raindrop to hit the ground?"

Musical chairs...
It made sense in theory, but this seemed like an exercise for first year students of a far younger age. He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to fight for a seat with a bunch of other teenagers. What if someone ends up on someone else's lap?
He does respect Doji Fuyuko, so he nods his head once and looks to the others, almost solemnly prepared for the hijynx that would soon follow.

He would get disqualified first anyways, so yeah, whatever... music chairs.

Shinjo Takezou arrives to the dojo and bows to the teacher. "Good morning Sensei, I apologize for any tardiness. Still getting use to the school layout." He says before finding a seat.

Well, this certainly took a turn I did not expect, Seijuro thinks to himself, nodding as he considers the lesson. Should see a few butts hit the floor, too, if this goes ow I think it will.

Musical chairs... Okay, why not. The teacher was a legend (and easy on the eyes) so Priya would go along with it.
