Saito leans forward to meet her. Smiling, he whispers, "I know."
Reclining back once more, he asks casually, "So, have you decided on your order yet, Otomo-sama?"

My he is full of himself isn't he. Charming one would say. She folds the menu and looks him in the eyes. "Why don't I trust the wise scorpion to order for me." She grins. "After all you are far more an expert in fine cuisine then I."

"Very well," he says, smiling but also sounding a little put-out. He doesn't bother to pick up the menu again, however, simply beckoning a waiter over to the table. "Yes, we've decided. For the appetiser, oysters with mignonette sauce, and for the entrees, I'll be having the beef bourguignon, and the lady will have the lobster thermidor. Wine? Yes, of course. Whatever the chef recommends for pairing." He hands the menus back to the waiter and sends him away.
"The Golden Dove specializes in Merenae cuisine," he explains the foreign words passing his tongue. After another pause, he adds, "I hope you're not allergic." There's no indication from this statement that he has any intention of changing the order if Katsumi said she was.

She chuckles and shakes her head. "Oh now this makes it all very exciting. So many new things I've never tried." It's all filthy Gaijin food's to. She smiles at him and folds her hands together. "I guess we'll have to find out. Oh my Shosuro-San you aren't intending to try and kill a member of the Imperial family are you?"

"Have you never had a crustacean before?" Saito asks. Clicking his tongue, he adds, "My heart goes out to our deprived brethren upon the Wall to hear that." He doesn't seem all that taken aback at being asked if he was attempting to kill her either.
"Even water can be poisonous if taken in excess, Otomo-sama," he states with a shrug as his only answer to the question.

She waves her hand dismissively. "True but who willingly drinks water in excess." She leans back in her chair chuckling. "I can say I've never had crustacean before. It sounds... foreign to me." Disgusting is more likely. Gaijin having no sense in taste or honor. Honestly why do we allow them into our empire at all. I'll never understand.

"I suppose it's better that you haven't," Saito tells her. "Anaphylaxis tends to be more severe on the second exposure than the first. It has to do with immunoglobin bonds, I'm sure you wouldn't be interested." The waiter brings out a white wine for Katsumi and a deep red for Saito. The Scorpion raises his glass after the man departs.
"To second chances," he offers a toast.

Was that meant to be a threat. This one is cute. She raises the glass. "To second chances." She drinks from her glass. "So then tell me Shosuro-San what classes are you teaching?"

"Does our kyujutsu and bushido teacher not already know?" he asks coyly. After a sip of his own wine, he answers, "I am teaching Chemistry and Cooking in this, my first year teaching at Rokugan High School. There's quite a bit of overlap in the two subjects, in fact. Cooking is, in essence, just affecting chemical changes to food."

She chuckles and shakes her head. "Come now do you truly believe the Otomo are as knowledgeable as the scorpion? Come now Shosuro-San. What fun is there in just getting having all the answers things Shosuro-San?"
