Having made a reservation for dinner for one a good while in advance, Shosuro Saito was quickly seated at one of the finest restaurants in Toshi Ranbo. He sits at his table with a rare smile on his face, pondering the choices the menu provided; food being one of the few things which brought the Scorpion true, unencumbered pleasure. He often cooked for himself, being an expert in it to the point he taught classes at one of the most prestigious schools in the Empire. However, after the long, tiring first day of classes there, he had decided to treat himself to being served for a change, even if it was by his inferiors.

"Is this seat taken?" An all to sultry voice rings out from behind Shosuro Saito. Otomo Katsumi smiles at him for a moment. "If it's not being to presumptuous as it appears you currently don't appear to have a date. Though I do understand if you do not desire to spend time with a stranger."

"With a stranger, no, I don't," Saito answers bluntly, barely looking up at her. Slowly, his frown becomes a half-grin. "With a colleague, however... still mostly not, but I'm willing to make an exception." He stands and bows, then moves around to pull out the empty chair for the Otomo.
"Please, do join me Otomo-sama," he invites her. Looking her over, he adds, "The photo in your file in HR does not do you proper justice."

"You flatter me Shosuro-San." She takes a seat across from him. Of course Photo's don't do me justice I am after all the pinnacle of beauty. She stares him up and down. "So tell me surely a attractive young man like you doesn't often eat alone?"

"And you're paying my flattery back in kind," Saito notes, retaking his own seat, "which gives me great hope as to how the bill will be settled at evening's end." He begins to peruse the menu once more, giving it a bit more attention than the Otomo. She might think for a moment that he's forgotten she's there until he snaps his fingers at a passing waiter, taps his menu, and indicates the Otomo should be provided one. A credit to the service in this locale, he does with great haste.
"I do often eat alone, as I usually cook for myself," he answers. "On the few occasions like this where I allow others to attempt to meet my standards, there are rarely any so bold as to seek out a Scorpion as a dining partner." It's not clear whether those "others" he's talking about are kitchen staff or dining partners themselves, a vaguery that is likely intentional.

Otomo Katsumi chuckles observing the menu as it is handed to her. "Flattery is part of the trade. Surely as a scorpion you are familiar with the use of words." She begins skimming through the menu only half interested in it. "So then allow me this question if you usually cook for yourself and are so skilled." She lowers the menu to look at him better. "Why come out tonight?"

"I wasn't objecting to the flattery," Saito clarifies, half-grinning once again. Nodding at her question, he answers, "Simply put, it was the first day of school. After a long while of not having to do so, I spent today toiling diligently, trying to provide something worthwhile to the slavering, ungrateful masses. Thus, I find it immensely satisfying to spend my evening watching others do it instead." He nods at the kitchen and waitstaff, his smile widening.

Well now he certainly is full of himself isn't he. She folds her hands together. "So it was that a brilliant chef such as yourself choose this location. Tell me was it on a whim or have you dined here before and found the food to your liking." She pulls the menu up once again covering her face. Well he'll be a fun game if a different one to the one's I've been playing so far.

"I do very little "on a whim", as you put it," Saito replies, setting down his own menu. "I have indeed been here before and found the food between adequate and enjoyable, depending upon the dish and the night." He cranes his neck a bit to look over Katsumi's menu at her, which also has the additional effect of making it so that he's looking down his nose.
"Might I ask what brings you here tonight, Otomo-sama?" he asks. "Do you make it a habit of wandering into fine restaurants without a reservation, attempting to play upon the sympathies... or perhaps vain hopes... of those poor souls seated alone, that you might be invited to join their company? Or... is it just something about me?" He asks his mildly insulting and conceited questions with the most innocent of tones.

Otomo Katsumi merely blinked her eyes slowly. A deliberate effect. A very different game then the others. "The honest answer. I saw you come in." She smiles at him. "I recognized you from work and wanted to see just what kind of person you are." She grinned. "You don't quite disappoint." She leans forward
