He let out a slighr sigh, as he had already did his warm ups. But he knew better to do as the sensei says, otherwise he will not have a good day. His warmups looked a little sloppy. He didn't put much efdort into it because he did warm up earlier.
when it came time to show his stance. He went into his kata stance.

Kumataro nodded to Suzaku.
"Good!"
He then looked at Tetsuko.
"Huh, not bad at all, Doji-san! Have you had heavy weapons training before?"
He then clapped his hands again once everyone had a weapon.
"Alright, everyone line up again, weapons ready! We're going to go through some basic stance techniques first for the beginners."

Suzaku lines up, maintaining his weapon in the proper position, using his legs to stay centered and keep his weapon up like his is carrying a basket of daikon or pruning a fruit tree.

Priya has been here, all along, doing the warmups with everyone else. She picks up a weapon, something like a large wooden hammer and gets ready to go through some stances

I've spent my last few summers training with some of the men on Kaiu Kabe." she says with a nod. "Though, I know my stance isn't perfect." She slides into place with the others, lining up to prepare for the exercise.

"Hey!" She says to Hida Tetsuko "I trained on a wall too. The smaller Badger one which is mostly a mountain" she grins as she lines up and gets in her own stance

Suzaku smiled brightly at the Ichiro's answer as he continued to await further instruction.

"You know, that really does explain a lot." Tetsuko responds with a chuckle. "And I mean that in a good way."

Kumataro took a stance with his own practice weapon in front of the line of students. He decided that the best thing to do first was to get a sense for how all of them could handle the weight.
"Alright, now, the first thing I'm going to ask you to do is simple. Hold your weapon parallel to your body, like I'm doing. Then, making sure the other students are a good distance away from you, do a frontward swing, like so."
With the expert movement of someone who had swung such a weapon in battle many times before, Kumataro swung his practice tetsubo forward, using his upper hand to guide the blow and his upper body to roll with the forward momentum. He hit the mat and then swung the weapon backwards with a flick of his wrists, bringing it full circle around back to the resting position. It was all one motion, deceptively fluid given the weight of the weapon and the size of the man swinging it.
He suspected that the more experienced students would have an easy time copying the motion, but the less experienced ones...well, he hoped they would be able to keep their face from hitting the mat.

Priya has obviously trained, but she is less precise than she could be, her swing has a lot of control to it, but she is obviously a beginner.
