Yoshi looked at the flower with a shrug. He had no clue. Though, If he knew everything about flowers, he wouldn't be in this class. also he wasn't particularly surprised to see the Utaku here. Him and Umeko were pretty chummy, or at least he thought so. But being so freindly to each other in public was a great way to start rumors. Not that Yoshi cared anyway. // unskilled Intelligence /w 1 raise: 4k4 = 16

Chiyo had taken a seat with her flowers, delicately setting them down upon her desk when she felt the vibration of the phone in her purse pocket. She pulled up the phone and glanced at the text from Yoruga, looked up at him, then nearly responded a little too hastily with--
'Duh, nerd'--
She deleted it, inhaled, and wondered on a nicer way of putting this.
Ech, that was a little too ass-kissy for her taste but she sent it anyways.

Umeko gave the class a moment, smiling warmly. She caught Yoruga's eyes and knew the young scorpion could have answered but she didn't press him. Instead, nodding to herself, she turned back to the projector, switching it to the next one. It showed additional information on the flower. "Despite its name, the lily of the valley does not in fact share a genus with its more popular cousin, the lily. You may also have heard it referred to as May bells, Our Lady's tears or Mary's tears. It has a strong, slightly sweet scent that is popular in perfumes. It is also highly poisonous." She said the last part with a hint of warning in her tone. "As for its meaning, as you can see here it is mostly use to represent humility and trust, though it can also be used for returning happiness and sweetness."
She gave them a minute to copy down the information, before switching slide to one that showed a grove of bamboo. "In today's class, we will be covering flowers and plants that can be used to show appreciation to someone in a non-romantic way." Umeko explained, before facing the class once more with a smile. "Now, who can tell me what is the meaning behind bamboo?" The class continued like that for an hour. The sensei would show the class a picture of a plant or flower, tell the student its name then ask if anyone could tell its meaning. She never showed a hint of disappointment if no one could answer, and always smiled encouragingly at anyone that raised their hand, even if they didn't have the correct meaning. They went over a dozen or so plants, the pace never too quick. Umeko seemed to enjoy a very open approach in her class, where she would try to interact with the students as often as she could, encouraging them to share their knowledge with the class. The covered plants included: - Bamboo for grace, longevity and strength - Daffodil for respect - Edelweiss for courage and power - Pink gerbera for appreciation and compassion - Gladiolus for conviction, honor and strength of character - Iris for loyalty - Jasmine for friendliness and gracefulness - Magnolia for dignity, nobility and perseverance - Olive for peace and wisdom - Orange blossoms for purity - Plumeria for beauty, charm and grace - Violets for honesty Finally, Umeko sat at her desk, with a last slide up that showed an overview of what they had gone over. "Now that we have explored a few of the various plants that can be used to show someone appreciation, or respect or any other variant on the subject, I would like each of you to take a moment, with the information you now know and think of a combination of flowers you could use to give to someone you highly respect. You don't need to tell me who you are thinking of, but tell me which flowers you would use and what specific meaning you are hoping to get across." She folded her hands on the table before her with a smile. "Take your time."

Genji raised his hand, waiting acknowledgement from Umeko-sensei before speaking. When he does so he closes his eyes so as to not look at the board, his tone soft as he seems to speak from the heart. "Sensei, I would offer an arrangement of daffodil and pink gerbera with a few shoots of bamboo added in. In the center I'd subtly add two flowers: one violet and one plumeria."

Really Genji in the middle of her class? In front of all her students? He was either very oblivious to social customs or was simply shameless. Even if he wasn't referring to Umeko almost assuredly all of the students would assume so, to court someone so publicly... Kangei shivered. It was a flattering gesture to be sure but I wouldn't be surprised if Umeko near buckled from embarrassment.

Tsuki looked back to where Utaku Genji had sat themselves, his selection of flowers an interesting combo and one that was almost overly affectionate. She had to ponder if such an arrangement could even look nice enough, but then beauty was in the eye of the beholder as it goes. She turned back to the front of the class and then raised her hand once she had the opportunity to do so. "Sensei, I would choose Daffodil, Pink Gerbera, and Violets set in a circular pattern so it can show how each leads and builds to the other."

Next, after Chiyo has set down the bouquet neatly on her desk, she raises her hand to take her turn.
If anyone was holding their breath, expecting her to say something cruel, mean, or rife with double-meaning, they would be holding their breaths for a very, very long time.
“Sensei, I would extend the offer of a modest bouquet of Jasmine, olive at its center, surrounded by Gladiolus and magnolia. I will express a desire to seek enlightenment, and though I may not seem to have changed, I would like to make amends in order to help achieve that goal.”

He frowned.
She is trying to hard to make everyone believe it. I guess if she spams it long enough the sheep will.
He hoped that Umeko-sensei did not expect him to answer that. He had an answer but probably no one would like. He idly looked around class trying to see who else he knew.
