"I remember, vaguely. I think we only met...that one time Seppun-sensei almost drowned? Or am I remembering wrong?" Then her phone makes its usual noises. She glances at it. Then takes a good, long look. And a second later, she is furiously tapping away. |

Akane blinks at Hisui, her explanation paused for the moment, "Um... well... if it's nothing important should I continue, Hisui-chan. Or do you need a moment?"

"Ah, right. Weeelll... with her actually being a sentient sword and all, apparently part of the reason she turned into a girl was to look for someone she considered worthy to wield her. It seems she had some issues with Daigotsu Kanpeki-dono, and something about me was what she was looking for. I promised to protect and care for her, but Daigotsu-dono came to take her back in preparation for his upcoming actions. I refused to give her up, and Kunshu said she wanted to stay with me. Daigotsu-dono just wanted the sword back in the Clan, so he offered me two choices; Join the Spider, or risk war between them and the Lion. I wasn't about to be responsible for such a thing, so I did my duty to Kunshu-chan and joined her Clan."
Akane gave a small chuckle, "Needless to say the Lion do not want me back. And honestly, being a Spider isn't that bad. Even if Champion-sama does not trust me, both as an outsider and as the person who stole Kunshu-chan back from her father during the war. Apparently I'm a 'loose cannon' or such."

"Wait. What. She's a sentient sword?" She blinks, all her troubles forgotten. If she had a drink, it'd have splattered all over Akane's face, but thankfully there was none. "You know, I shouldn't be surprised by that. But I am."
