Akane nodded, "I suppose I never made the name connection either. I mean, if there any subject I'm good at with intellectual stuff, it's history. But who's gonna expect Kunshu-chan is THAT Kunshu? Thinking back, I wonder why I wasn't more surprised?"
She rubbed her chin thoughtfully.

She shook her head, "Not big on libraries myself either. But back when I went to school in Lion lands, before coming here, they certainly spent a lot more time on history than they did on math or art or other subjects."

Akane sighed lightly, "I do my best to take care of her still, but I think she wants to see some use. And I can't really promise that for her. Perhaps I made a mistake in saying I could provide whatever she might need, all that time ago..."

"Oh, I know of other ways to use her. Much better ways than some old battle. But those required her to be in her human form; Much too dangerous to try any of that with a sword I think. Though I've heard tales I suppose..." Akane trailed off thoughtfully.

Hisui tells it in broad strokes. The Spider rising. The battles. The loss of the Yoritomo and the Isles. The campaign to retake the Empire. The Day of Thunder. Her tone is somber, melancholic.

Truthfully, it had rather shaped Akane's life in ways she detested. But she wasn't one to complain about things.
