Kumataro laughed uproariously at that.
"You remembered that! And then I jumped in the lake 'cause I didn't wanna get caught by Kunshu-san."
The laughter subsided into chuckling.
"No, don't worry, Mirumoto-sama, I don't think it's gonna get quite that wild."

"Yeah, I ended up getting caught in the river and washed down stream. I ended up hitting the river bank, then after that I lived in the woods for a while. You shoulda heard the stories of the Monster In The Woods."

Akane listens with rapt attention... well, as much attention as she can give when there's food involved. She'd never heard the stories about this 'monster in the woods'. At least not that she could remember.

Kumataro kept a straight face for as long as he could, which was all of five seconds before he snickered.
"I'm just kidding. I crawled right back up on shore and got caught by a teacher. They sent me to the principal's office, and since I'd missed so much school they kicked me out. Luckily I got to retake the year."
