Kiki smiled at Genji. The poor girl was lost and she picked Fenne up as if he would protect her from the Ningen in the class. Kiki was supposed to socialize. How can a scared girl who can't talk and listen socialize?
Fight or Flight
Fenne turned and licked her face.

Genji turned toward Ryouko and sighed, "Joo-Eun-chan, where is your horse?" He snapped his fingers, which got both of the dogs' attentions. Knowing one doesn't go anywhere without the other, the Utaku pointed to Joo-Eun and both Freki and Geri plodded their way over to the two Utaku students before sitting obediently.
With that handled he looked down to Kiki and handed her his cell phone with the message:

"...I don't really consider a horse that my mom forced on me a companion, sensei. And the animals I would have considered companions are back home, in the family barn, doing their jobs," Joo-Eun replies, a bit sheepishly.

Genji just frowned, "Either way, you're at least familiar with Geri and Freki. Why don't you use them for today's lesson?"
He then looked back to Kiki and smiled, reaching out to scritch Fenne on the ear. "It sounds like he's very helpful to you, Kiki-san. What else can you tell me about the two of you?"

"Hai, sensei," Joo-Eun replies, kneeling near the hounds and giving them each a little bit of attention. She is clearly a lot more comfortable with these sorts of four legged creatures than horses.

Ryouko smiled at the younger Utaku, absently petting Daisuke as the steed pushed his nose against her. "It must be quite the challenge." She said to her, glancing at the rest of the class. A frown crossed on her features for a split second as it passed over the large lion, before pausing on Seijuro and Hitomi for a moment. She turned back to Joo-Eun, bowing her head at the girl. "To be born in our family with no love for horses." Ryouko specified, her tone calm and non-judgmental.

Kiki looked at the girl and pouted.

"It isn't that I dislike horses," Joo-Eun replies, "It's just...I don't really know how to put it."

Ryouko tilted her head slightly, glancing back at Daisuke who was edging toward Mizuki once more. She raised a brow at the horse, who straightened at being caught. The Utaku tilted her head slightly toward Joo-Eun, and Daisuke switched target, trotting over to the younger Unicorn to rub his soft nose on her cheek.
"Compared to most of the family, anything below worshiping the beasts would be the absolute worst thing?" She offered the girl with an amused smirk. It seemed she didn't mind making fun of herself and the rest of the Utaku. "You seem to like the dogs. You mentioned other animals at home?"
