At this question, Ayumu perked up. She was very interested on where to find these creatures, and perhaps even pet them, if it was possible. Hopefully it was.

"I heard there is a moaning ghost in the girl's dorm as well," Kojima remarked. He left out the comment that he didn't think it was a ghost at all.
"But yes, there are rumored to be a number of spirits on the school grounds. Rumor has it there are kodama in an ancient cherry tree. Who would like to explore these rumors and go on a field trip...?"

"Good," he said, seemingly pleased. "So, I'd like you all to write me a one page research paper on kodama for next week's class using the school academic standard. We don't have enough time today to find these creatures, but we'll start session at a location I'll post in an e-mail to the class. Everyone is dismissed but I'll be here after class for any questions, or after school in my office."

Kobushi takes down the instructions, silently pondering when to find the time to actually do the required research. He bows on his way out of the classroom, both interested and apprehensive. Perhaps it's because the "fantastic beasts" the class was looking for had, in some small way, actually been in the classroom.
