Kobushi shifts his stance, going into something that is clearly a defensive form.

Rodrigo took a moment to gauge where Kobushi's defense was weakest, then ducked in for a quick lower slash, arcing up and going under Kobushi's guard for a light blow and then quickly jumping back. "So, how would you like to do this?" Ichiro grabbed his bokken off the wall and twirled it as he walked. "I promise to be more of a challenge for you this time Mirumoto-san." he squared up with Ryuha and held his bokken out in an attack stance. "makes no difference to me, we can do three touches or perhaps a spar with a bit more, contact." He said it with a devious grin his heart was racing too, Ryuha was the strongest competition he has faced yet at this school. She may have misgivings about herself but to Ichiro she was a magnificent training partner......and she wasn't too hard on the eyes either. |

Right, defense wasn't working. It was unlikely he was going to be able to deflect his way to an opening. Kobushi decides the best solution to this is go take a risk and attack. Unfortunately, between his own lack in training and Rodrigo's natural quickness, his attack is a miss. OOC: orokos.com/roll/590637 17, so miss; TN back to 15 |

Rodrigo caught Kobushi's bokken on the side of his own and stepped out of the way, sliding his own bokken down the length of Kobushi's to strike him in the stomach and leave himself facing Kobushi's back. (( Kenjutsu 42: orokos.com/roll/590654 Damage 10: orokos.com/roll/590655)) |

Kobushi knows when he's beaten. He lowers his sword and bows to Rodrigo. When he straights, it is with a smile.
"You are good," he says, genuine in his praise. "I have a lot of catching up to do."
